Paid 50 cent to double the meat. He was behind the counter and was cool with it.

No, because surly there has to be a Jersey Mikes near by if you want a big chain sub. Much better than Subway.
Small Mom and Pop subway/sandwich shops are usually the best though. You just have to hunt them down and weed out the bad ones.

Sometimes but it's not as healthy as people think it is. You're eating a lot of bread and carbs.

Speaking of subs, this is about to go down.
If any of you are ever in San Diego and craving a sandwich, I highly recommend hitting up Hungry Bears.

Fisher, yeah man, I took that picture myself tonight. I lived in Escondido for about 10 years, just down the street from Hungry Bears on the golf course. I do live in OC now, this is the first time I have had Hungry Bear in about 3 years. Fukkin good shit.
Fisher, when you say there's a good cheesesteak 5 min away I hope you are not talking about Philly Franks in San Marcos?? I gave that place way too many tries when I lived there, hoping it would get better with each visit, but NOPE. It sucks.

Ate there fairly frequently when they had their $5 foot-longs... then they raised the price and I haven't been back in months.

No! Worked at a place where they process some of the ingredients, they are drenched in MSG.

Yep. Super freakin terrible for you. Really nothing healthy about it.
Most towns have Capriottis, JimmyJohns, Jersey Mikes, local joints everywhere too. If you really were wanting a sub, why would you choose Subway over them??
Price? You deserve it then.

With Yelp, you should never have to go to Subway again.

Fair enough, I've not been to hungry bear(I frequently looked at it and thought, meh, can't be good). That will change now that you suggest and claim it's better than phillyfranks, yes that's where I was talking about. Fries/rings both literally horrible imo, but I like their cheesesteaks. You in town for New Years? If so, I'm going to
watch ufc fight at hooters , I'll buy you a beer.

Fisher I am back in OC or else I would take you up on the offer. Maybe another time.
Is is there a cover charge at Hooters to watch UFC? Sometimes I go to Dave and Busters to watch the fights. I think it's $15 per person there.

No, although talent is mediocre, so that sucks. Went to tilted kilt last week ,they were talking about showing fight but unconfirmed. Much better talent there.

Happy New Year bud.
A few months back I went to Dave and Busters in Irvine to watch the fights and Rampage Jackson was there watching also. That was the 2nd time I ran into him. First time was at the movie theater in Mission Viejo.

Originally I'm from Philadelphia, and currently in the Wash, DC Metro area, it's almost impossible to find a good hoagie roll anywhere but in the Philly/S. Jersey area. Bread makes the sandwich and Subway is just about the worse there is.

Jersey Mike's.
For a couple of bucks more than Subway your'e getting a packed 'real' sub that's freaking amazing.
By 'real' I mean real oil and vinegar, Boars Head quality deli meat........

You can load with a lot of veggies though. Not too bad. Gotta hold the mayo though.

Rarely do I go there anymore. All you get in your sub is bread and veggies now for the most part. Last time there they charged me $4 to double the meat in a 12" cold cut combo, for a total of 2 paper thin layers of cold cuts. The sub itself set me back almost $13.
