I hate pulling Seaweed here by putting this thread in PT, Saloon is obviously the right place for this shit...but I just wanna capture a broader audience here at first.

Anywho, just looking for a feedback from folks who had something like this before.

Situation: I went to play a little ice hockey about a week ago...and got checked pretty hard into the boards....to the point where I felt like my cawck and balls got separated from my body.
No a big deal ...I've been on a surgery table more times than most of you went to see a dentist, but I never had to deal with this particular type of injury before...a week later this shit is still feeling kinda funky.

The problem is that I have a vacation plans scheduled 4 weeks from now and I'm just wondering if it's time to start canceling this shit.

If you had something like this- what did it feel like and what did you do, as far as recovery goes, when you found out that you have it.
I played sports all my life and many times had to deal with pretty gruesome injuries..this is something new though.

Only looking for serious responses from someone who had to deal with this shit before.

It's amazing that the hard tackles never get ya but the surprise bumps, but yeah not really had any experience on this matter I wish you the best in a speedy recovery friend, get better soon pal.

If you're honestly thinking of canceling vacation plans because of a sports hernia than you're an even bigger pussy than I originally thought.

I've had one and eventually got surgery on it but it's a matter of pain tolerance - which clearly you have very little of. The pain subsides if you rest it, but it's never going to just go away.

So basically just don't be a pussy, deal with some pain, don't play hockey between now and your vacation, and you'll be fine. And that's a serious answer.

I don't know about cancelling plans that's pretty extreme, go get it checked now if you're worried. The pain usually lasts at least a week and a bit, obviously if it's still bad go get it checked after that. I think these things morphing into something else is where the problem lies so a couple of weeks and you'd know something was up (some lump or something).

I don't know if I've ever had one i never go to doctors unless I'm about to die or my bones are broken/hanging out of their joints but my groins muscles are fukked. I do them badly once a year two weeks of hobbling around then try get lightly back into doing stuff. When you go back to activity try not to make sudden movements sideways, in fact def do not do this you will pay the price.


hope someone else has something better but that's my experience. Rest and ice first week but that looks done by now.

dude depends i have a hiatal hernia which I have had for 2 yrs now. doc says gotta lose weight before he will repair it. i also had a hernia in 77 from football. It had a cyst from the hernia it. Was very painful called ingunal or some shit like that which is what your sports hernia will turn into if u don't take care of it. You should be fine with some rest but if you tweak it gonna hurt like hell. As long as you don't plan a serious activity then you should be fine. Wrong broad rides you can have issues.

I had hernia surgery done on the right side...4 weeks or so I was healed
They put mesh inside to hold muscles in..still ok to this day

Sports hernia is painful but it is nothing compared to lumbar disck hernia in your lower back....that shit can last more than 8 months to a year and even if you do something slightly bad, the healing proces hass to start all over again. it will comletely penetrate you up....you can't do anything...referred pain all over the legs. be glad its not a disck hernia.
