Bear you making the trip to little river?
I don't think I have ever had boiled blue crab. To be honest it's more about tradition than taste, better tasting crab out there for sure

Dude, blue crabs are the best.
Catch tons of them down here on the coast in Texas. Make sure you have plenty of beer to wash it down with.

I love to go crabbing. I have had them boiled, grilled, and steamed. All good regardless of method.

Blue crabs are good but they can't compare to a nice thick slab of meat you get with King Crabs (not to be mistaken with snow crabs). You have to work a lot for the meat on the blue crabs. A good slab of king crab can be thicker than a steak.

Restaurants steam crabs in large pots with steam produced by a boiler. I wouldn't recommenced steaming them at home. Seems a great idea, but never quite works.

mustard is their guts cooked....it doesn't come in direct contact with any meat due to the shell(s) protecting each muscle/meat....IF you take your time, but you WILL get it on your crab meat and it wont hurt you..its an acquired taste but ive seen peeps smear it on crackers. its aight.
I catch em-thow them on ice-rip the shell off while theyre lethargic-hit em hard with old bay an into the pot they go....NO MUSTARD!
plus the seasoning really gets in there....
