JMon there’s a reason the books offer any bet once they charge the commission. It’s no different for parlays. But truly, there’s a reason they aren’t advertised, weekly parlay cards excluded because they have horrible propositions worth advertising.

I started posting on this site in hopes of dispelling some of the widespread and long standing myths about sports betting. I’ve addressed losers paying vigorish and how to correctly calculate vigorish on parlays…something even seasoned professional gamblers often get wrong.

My next dissertation could very well be about the myth that parlays are bad. Like I said they have to be used wisely, or should I say correctly. One of the many reasons gamblers lose is that they may not understand the game they are playing or the odds betting into.

It’s no different with parlays. Truthfully, parlays can be a deadly tool in a skillful or winning bettor’s arsenal.

Like I said parlays only help when you go 2-0 or 0-2.

I don’t get down on myself much when a loser comes across my desk, can’t win them all, but when I go 1-1 in a parlay, I tend to be hard on myself, and start re-evaluated things that may not need re-evaluating.

I can understand when a badger fends off a wildcat…

But I can also see a little Irishman, fight in him and all, getting outright stalked by a wildcat.

I think it was the superbowl where the Giants upset the Patriots a few years back. I was like 9-1 that day with big money at stake and broke even. Started seriously re-thinking those money management issues.
