How about this onhand proof of our president taking care of his vets?

On Choice for the VA: I have worked in doctors offices and have seen the program change from the standpoint of waiting for authorizations. When I first worked with Choice before there was a shut down and revamp of the program, it would take weeks to get auth for anything needed beyond the first visit with the specialist. Now, as a provider’s employee, I have seen the auth process improved immensely!! What took months of requests to get is often included in the initial visit paperwork now, but most people don’t realize that provision. Vets, first I want to thank you for your service and second I recommend that you ask for a copy of the Choice auth paperwork when you are accepted. You will see a slough of CPT codes under your auth numbers that let you know what is covered in the auth such as MRI’s and referrals to specialists. Also, the website that took forever to get figured out (2 months at least) is awesome except for the 16 character password that you have to recreate every few months. Auth requests can be made right on the website as well as finding out coverage and if there is even a need for an auth in the first place...oh,man, that really sped up care for our Vets. I am making this comment because I see that not all doctor’s offices understand these helps exist and Vets need to know what they have in Choice AND the American Public needs to hear that President Trump is not making a false claim. It’s not perfect but it is damn sure better than it was before the system was revamped. Take it from a former referrals specialist in a doctor’s office: I had to teach the docs what they had in availability from Choice. Not as lucrative to them as private insurance but for a doctor that cares about his/her patients, definitely a valuable program!!
