Detroit has 6 Conference Championships. Flyers have 8. Even though Detroit has been playing for more than 40 years before the Flyers were.
Flyers also have a better all-time winning percentage as a franchise than Detroit.

As far as Detroit impact vs. the Flyers, Detroit has more history because they're an older franchise.

The Flyers fan base is the family's of Oil refinery workers from the refineries up and down the Delaware river most of whom live in South Jersey who got season tickets for next to nothing in the late 60's
so basically 22,000 fans(what the spectrum held) is the Flyers fan base
