    i recall a lot of massacre's in the 2nd week of the playoffs in the past

    Plenty of exceptions, but in general, that bye week is monstrous

    Without taking into consideration what the point spread was for each of those 20 games this stat is useless. More importantly a study of 20 samples has no statistical significance.

    That's not true. New York won at San Diego last season.

    Here's a statistic for you. Since 1990 teams with a bye are 59-21 straight up in the divisional round, a 73.75% winning percentage.
