This statement is true of the entire democratic party and NOT just Barack Obama.

The democratic party platform favors the ultra wealthy and the ultra poor. Everyone else in between gets screwed.

ObamaCare is a prime example of this:
Under our current medical care delivery system, the wealthy and the middle class (even the lower working middle class) get very close to the same health care. They go to the same hospitals and see the same Doctors and have the same access to the vast array of specialists. The bottom 10% who refuse to lift their share of the load get stuck with county type care which is more than they deserve.

Under socialized medical care delivery systems throughout the world/ObamaCare, there are always pockets of private practice medicine available for the wealthy. You don't have to deal with the rationing of medical care services, don't have to wait nearly as long and receive a much higher quality level of care but you have to have the financial resources to pay for it. The bottom 10% wind up seeing very little change in the medical care they receive as county type care is the norm.

The group of people who get ABSOLUTELY SCREWED under socialized medicine is the middle class. Instead of enjoying the high quality medical care that the wealthy get under our current system, the entire middle class gets thrown into the socialized medical care system and do NOT have the ability to "opt out".

Whats really terrible is that socialized medicine will work reasonably well in the very beginning as it sucks the excess productive capacity that our current private practice system leaves behind. However, once this excess capacity gets eroded by socialized medicine, things turn bad quite quickly and you just can't switch back to what we had before as the entire foundation of private practice medicine has to be totally rebuilt.

Most working class liberal democrats oppose socialized medicine as well but are so blinded by their democratic party loyalty, they support their party's decision to try and socialize our country's medical care. More free-thinking liberal democrats know exactly what I'm saying is true.

To be fair, the same blind loyalty occurs within the republican party ranks. A recent example of this is conservatives lashing out against Obama for forcing catholics to have birth control covered within their medical insurance.

You have to be close to BRAIN DEAD to oppose legislation that provides easy and free access to birth control products for all. The last thing this world needs is for poor people to have more children in the name of religion. Most republicans realize this but also know if they publicly show their support, it would mean the loss of the religious right and the end of the republican party.

1. Obama didn't bail out Wall Street, Bush did. Obama bailed out the auto industry which, while has strong connections to Wall Street, pales in comparison to the banks bailouts.

2. The stock market goes up as people become more optimistic about the economic climate and become more willing to invest. That's hardly a strictly pro-rich incentive as people in the middle class also invest.

3. Food stamps and unemployment benefits became necessary when the economy was in the shitter. Much of it will slowly phase out. In fact, the recent Democratic proposal slowly phases out unemployment benefits.

4. Actually, pretty much everyone who pays taxes. When you purchase an item, you pay taxes. You have this confused with income taxes. Which, technically, is also incorrect. If you work, you pay income taxes. However, many people in the middle class get back more from tax cuts, tax loopholes, tax incentives, etc than they pay in taxes thus they get a return [They still paid taxes but they got more than they paid].
