You know what I hate at work the most...
Is occasionally, they get busy and ask me to take escalated calls. I'm a team player, I don't mind helping people out, especially when they do good work and help me out last minute on projects or work late overtime on last minute notice. (slave driver I know...)

But to all the ****ing idiots out there....Every time you call into customer service, and give someone a account number/reference number etc....

Do you really have to do the following...

-Give your name then spell it.... I already have it on my screen, yes I need to hear you spell it, **** it up then start over again.

    - **** up giving me your address, because you don't know it and your trying to impersonate someone else....Like I don't know what your trying to do...

    - I don't need your cell phone your pager your work phone and your home phone. I will not be calling you back, I have people that do that for me, Even then I tell them not to make any outbound phone calls to customers, they can call in tomorrow.

    - When I say take your time while you go get your social security card to verify the last 4 numbers...and 10 minutes later I'm not on the line still and your calling back wondering why I'm not there... Are you really this dumb?

    - Don't lie about making requests and canceling policies/contracts when your not even the owner of the policy/contract and you want to cancel. At least have the owner do it. So I can tell them how many thousands they will be losing while they "cancel" there policy.

-Don't lie and say you never signed any request or applied for anything when I have to wait 5 minutes to load your file because its really "that ****ing long" and pathetic... Thats usually when I start reading the signed application to them and all there signed documents requests since then and then when they say well I'm going to cancel and I point out the couple of thousands of dollars I will make off of them canceling there contract early... Thats like poking someone in the ribs who just broke all there ribs..its nice.

    - threaten to sue me.... please, waste your money "sueing" me... I have a legal department. This just gives me another reason to go talk to Leia (very hot, once told me she would have no problem with being on the viking love boat cruise and she would have enjoyed every minute of it).... Please threaten to sue me...It's really funny when you get those "free legal aides"...that doesn't even know the process to start a complaint... You know its bad is when the Insurance commission calls you and then starts laughing at how dumb the complaint truly is...

Anyways I had to work in customer service for the first time in 3 months today and I can tell you this.

I'm tired of talking to people who live in the following states

    Kentucky
    Arkansas
    Missouri
    Louisiana
    North Carolina
    South Carolina
    Alabama
    Mississippi

Some of the stupidest mother ****ers live in those states... Thats all I can say... When I would rather talk to the mexican lady who can't speak english and she can count better/faster and more coherently than the guy in Mississpi we have a problem.

    Sorry to hear, dude.

Piece of advice. You'll enjoy life more if you can somehow leave work problems at work.

I never have taken a loan out until my mortgage.
Always bought cars inexpensively 6500 or less
I use to run a very small lawn care company that I'm 20% owner of to this day. My 2,000 investment is now the 3rd largest company in town....

Basically I work I saved my money, and I never really blew it on dumbshit. Between me and the fiance we have a sizeable income to what we are actually livinging in at the moment. But most of that is due to the fact that in the next 2-4 years we are expecting to buy 2 new cars...and prob have a kid.

As far as my job, I came from a customer service call center to a team that designed/reviews/edits procedures for a very large company. We are currently doing a merger. Basically, when working in the "business enviorment" I've found its more about office politics...working overtime, having good understanding of your business, and doing whats right regardless of how much of a pain in the ass it is. Everyone else was getting 2.5% raises I got a 4% raise and max bonus in a year where they actively told everyone who got bonuses nobody got anywhere near max. In the end I just want them to pay for me to finish my degree so I can go make more money elsewhere (unless they are going to pay top dollar which they won't...to get top dollar you need to go outside of the company and then come back).

I stay late at quarterly meetings to drink with managers and serve on the "football tailgate committee". ( I ordered 85lbs of Boston Butts today, pulled pork here we come, with lots of BBQ sauce) Basically my work is all about making money drinking.

How many companies have kegs of beer at there quarterly meetings, Jelloshots, spiked watermellon, and margaritas? Needless to say our tailgate party will have all the above

So yeah, when not in hell I was completely ****ing off today so in the end it really wasn't that bad.

If I had to give any advice it would be...

Don't buy stuff you can't pay for in cash unless its a house. Why pay 4-8% more for something than the retail price, in the end people walk around with thousands in credit card debt, and I think there ****ing crazy, they think there ****ing normal.

If I lost my job I would easily end up being forced to take a 10,000 pay cut, I would more than likely just say screw that go back to school full-time and bang out my accounting degree, recoup that money in 2-3 years tops.

Sorry for the wall of text, but thats another honest rant.

I used to work in a call center for a financial services company. I'm very familiar with the term "escalated call". I feel your pain.
