This guy wasn't a high draft pick for a reason and hasn't always had great recievers just the other teams signals lol b4 he finally tuned his skills and became elite in 07, and oh just a dominate defense in the playoffs that always came up with the stop/turnover the entire coaching staff in those earlier years all eventually ended up as a HC themselves, he has always had a line that he can just stand behind forever until someone is open, he had Vinny the most clutch kicker ever in those early years instead of other guys having kickers who fell apart in the playoffs.

It's always difficult to compare players from different eras, too many people just look at stats and that's not really a good comparison. The modern era/current QB's have a huge advantage because of the NFL rules that continually promote more passing and more games played to compile those numbers. It was much harder to compile those gaudy passing stats back in the day, DB's and LB's didn't have the handcuffs they have now when playing receivers. How many modern era WR's or TE's would get alligator arms going over the middle with Jack Ham or Butkus waiting to hit them, under the less offense friendly modern rules, that receiver is getting laid out whether he touches the ball or not. It doesn't matter if the ball is even being thrown his way, he's getting hit just for being there, no flags, just another incompletion and hope he didn't get his bell rung too bad. With all the rules that now protect QB's, late hits, hits to the head, hits below the knees, roughing the QB, tuck rules etc. how many of today's great QB's would have long enough careers to compile those stats. The kind of calls and protection afforded to the Bradys and Mannings of our world wouldn't have been extended back then, outside of pulling a gun and shooting a QB they didn't get those kind of calls. I'm not saying the modern QB's aren't tough enough, but hits like that shorten careers and you can never say if one of their careers would have ended prematurely due to injury. Another consideration is the improvement of modern medicine, the type of treatment and surgical care common today was just science fiction 20+ years ago. I'm not saying the great modern QB's still wouldn't have been great players in another era, just don't discount what it took to be a great QB back in the day.

          Sacks-
          2007 (Brady)- 21
          2008 (Cassel)- 47
          2009 (Brady)- 16

How is it that Brady was sacked 10 fewer times in 2 years than Cassel was in 1, even though Cassel was a much more mobile QB? If the line has been so great, why did they allow the 5th most sacks in 08?

Cassel doesn't get rid of the ball as fast... as I recall, the last time he had started a game prior to the Brady injury was in like high school or some shit... the coaches told him, if u don't have the first reads open or u think its a risky proposition... eat a sack hold onto the ball and punt and wait for the D to get the ball back. just don't turn it over a ton and give us no chance to win!!!

u know, don't be a Rex Grossman lol

or its just as simple as, HE DOESN'T GET RID OF THE BALL AS FAST AS ELITE QBS U FUKKN RETARD

and I like how out of everything that I added to that quote... the only thing u tried to disprove was the offensive line play ....LMAO

                              1. Peyton
                              2. Montana
                              3. Brady

Brady should not be number 1, like everyone has stated he has had a great offensive line, great defense and the greatest head coach of all time. No doubt he's one of the best of all time, he's just not the best. The cheating scandal is another thing in itself, lets be honest its probably not hard to pick apart a defense when you know whats coming

If i was starting a team TODAY, and everyone was in their prime, my list would go something like this:

                                  1. Brady
                                  2. Manning

If your life depended on 1 game, you'd take Warner? Interesting. I don't even think Warner would take Warner if his life depended on it. I have a lot of respect for the guy, but if all things are equal, how is he better then Peyton Manning or Tom Brady?

so now you're claiming to know what the coaches told him?

What does Cassel's release have to do with anything? You said Brady has all day to throw because of how good his line is... why wouldn't Cassel receive that same protection? His release has nothing to do with your argument. Do you even read the dumb shit you post?

I didn't address the rest of your post because it was just stupid. Really, bringing up the taping incident? You obviously don't know the rules of the NFL, or the fact that what they were accused of is still happening with other teams. Maybe you heard about the Jets employee taping on the sideline during the last game against the Pats? It is legal to tape on the sidelines even now, as long as you wear a green vest and work for a team-run TV show. Notice the team-run part? Does the NFL monitor any of this? Doubtful. But go ahead, keep thinking that the Pats were the only team doing it, or that it was even an advantage. It didn't help them in-game, so it wasn't against the rules

for one game-elway. but montana, elway, brady. manning needs more rings, favre too many picks, too few rings. but seriously, bob greise. if you start a thread, and include him, just go kill yourself.

I have a lot of respect for the guy, but if all things are equal, how is he better then Peyton Manning or Tom Brady?
I did not say, "If my life depended on it." Although if my life depended on it I would take Troy Aikman. Lifelong Cowboy fan. Even when Troy was accumulating multiple concussions he never became mistake prone. Man I swear I thought Troy was going to live the last half of his life with amnesia from all those concussions.
