#142Fukin lol at you trying to compare palmer to rivers when he's not even as good as kyle orton. I really have no clue why you keep trying to defend palmer, all his number came 2007 and before. After that he's literally bottom 10 quarterback in the league if you go by stats. Before 2008 he was who you think he is, now your just making a fool out of yourself.

#143I know Palmer is def not the same player he was. Ever since the injury against the Steelers in the Playoffs he has seemed very cautious in the pocket, although with that said look at his numbers the last how many games last year when Ocho, and T.O. were not playing, they were much better than through out the season.Comment -

#144one of the reasons why carson palmer struggled the last couple years in cincy was because TO and ocho cinco would simply run wrong routes and sometimes give up and stop running all together.
Look what ocho is doing in new england. He stinks.
This oakland d and runningbacks might be the best palmer has had. Oakland doesn't have an elite 1 wr but they do have some good 2 and 3 wr's and speed
but he didn't struggle. led bungles to division title in 2009 and passed for nearly 4000 yds in 2010.
but you do make a good point as to why some of his passes were intercepted.Comment -

2009- Rivers 4,254 yards, 28 TD, 9 INT. Palmer 3,094 yards, 21 TD, 13 picks
2010- Rivers 4,710 yards, 30 TD, 13 INT. Palmer- 3,970 26 td, 20 picks
Not even close, as i said.

#148Your right, keep using palmers stats before he got injured to defend your point. It really is a shame he got hurt because he was on his way to the hall of fame, now he's worse than kyle orton.Comment -

palmer had more passing yards than rodgers or brady last season, you moron. if that's your definition of washed up then i guess rodger and brady should hang it up too.
who is better?
palmer = worth 2 1st rounds
orton = couldn't get 2 jockstraps

#156Bengals fans have got to be jumping for joy today. Two first round picks for Palmer is just insane, if/when it doesn't work, someone's head needs to roll for making that deal.Comment -

#157oakland just spent all their money on baltic avenue.
too bad that property isnt worth shit. by the time they pass GO they will wont have any money to even build a house on it.
in non-monopoly terms-- they are fukked and that was stupid as sh1t and if anybody actually thinks trading 2 first round picks for one of the worst qbs in the NFL over the last 5 years was a good move then they should never form an opinion again.Comment -

#159I think it might be a good deal for Oakland. They sure needed a QB bad. I think they could be in the playoffs if they had one. They sure are taking a risk but they think it would be worth it for this year to get to the playoffs.Comment -

Yeah it may look good to have Carson Palmer right now....anyone can see it is better than having KB back there......
However, Bengals basically lose nothing and gain two first round draft picks.
They were never going to get Palmer to play again and the most they really should have gotten for him was a single 3rd rounder at best.Comment -

#170Yes, give them a standing ovation for have Kyle Boller as their backup QB and then having to spend 2 1st round picks to bring in another QB who has not played well in a long time. I could see if their 1st string and 2nd string went down, but they made the choice to have Boller as the backup. Oh, and blowing a 3rd round pick on a QB as well for next year.Comment -

Your an idiot. Carson isnt even better than kyle orton, let alone rivers. Watch what he does in oakland, it will be the same thing he did with the bengals last year. I wonder what you'll be saying then, oh, he didnt have time to learn the playbook, oh the raiders have no wideouts, oh the offensive line sucks. People here dont even watch football.Comment -

#173You talk like draft picks are gold (there not) & Palmer is an elite QB comparable to Rivers & others -He is a professional athlete who has played football his entire life-it might take a couple of weeks to get the timing & chemistry going but this is a decent risk to take for a couple draft picks.The Raiders may finally have a real QB as opposed to jason campbell et al.Finally I didn't applaud them for having Campbell & Boller in the first place. I applaud them for recognising they had to do something & doing something as opposed to what most gm's do during a season when bad things happen.
However, Palmer hasn't been an elite QB in years. He is serviceable, but his focus on the game is virtually gone and he has a limp noodle for an arm these days. You think months of drinking and bangin' hotties in SoCal has picked up that arm strength any? The man doesn't even have to tug his own rooster, much less pump iron.
Raiders gave up a lot to try and contend this season and did it with one of the better available options, but lets not confuse Palmer with an elite QB here.Comment -
