He is a badass! Love the guy and see him often in the Ya with Jake and Gil around Gil's gym. He is straight outta Stockton/Lodi. They are the real deal.

I wanted Jake to win so bad but as long as it's Nick that will be better. Someone from their camp must do it!

That would explain his super human strength. Seriously though, I just think he's got severe ADD. I'm a huge fan of Nick. I think he's got a really good shot at beating GSP.

He has about 10% chance of beating gsp.. and those are pretty good odds honestly.

Mayhem has a better shot at taking out GSP.
Nick has nothing on GSP. Nick's striking is not strong enough to go toe to toe with GSP. Only way Diaz wins is if he gets lucky like Matt Hughes in the first GSP/Hughes fight, and catches him in a lucky submission at end of round.
You think Diaz will throw little jabs at GSP and beat him up that way? That's all Diaz has...He's caught lazy fighters with no patience with silly punches that wouldn't knock out a female, but somehow knocked his opponent out/down with them.

Gates obviously is a mma noob. This post doesn't make any sense. Gsp doesn't want to go toe to toe with diaz. Diaz only shot to win is to make this into a brawl.

I like Diaz, but no matter who fights GSP will have to wait to catch him making a mistake. Hughes caught GSP when GSP was young and more aggressive and that is when counters open themselves up. Unfortuneatly, today's GSP is much more conservative fighter and my play will only be GSP by dec.

Nick is no way a better striker than GSP....All we see is a Conservative GSP. Nick will not beat a conservative GSP...Plain and simple.
If that makes me a noob then sure.

I actually think Nick will outstrike GSP in this fight. After 2 or 3 rounds of this Greg Jackson will tell GSP to take it to the ground and GSP will likely win the last 2 or 3 rounds via LNP. GSP will likely win a close decision. I still give Diaz a 40% chance of winning. I'm looking forward to this fight regardless of who wins.

Didn't say I was resident pro. But that was a comment made by someone who hasn't watched much mma. Nick diaz's whole game is to bait you into a brawl. That's why he sticks his chin out and talks shit to his opponent with his hands down. So it makes no sense for you to say that he doesn't want to go toe to toe with gsp. Of course he does. That's his whole gameplan. Watch footage of ufc 47 from 2004. Nick Diaz vs Robbie Lawler. That's who diaz was then and still the same way.

I'm not sayin he can't outstrike him. I'm saying that nick diaz will do waht nick diaz does. And that is go toe to toe and make fights into brawls. That's all I said. Gates said that diaz doesn't want to go toe to toe. That's bullshit. He absolutely wants to make this a toe to toe slugfest.

So now I haven't watched any MMA.
So now Nick Diaz is going to "bait" GSP (one of the smarter guys in MMA) to fight his fight. SO Nick Diaz will dictate how this fight goes? Last I checked GSP dictates how every single one of his fights play out. He doesn't get baited into other peoples game plans.
That's the exact fight I was talking about. Diaz caught a DUMBASS lawler with a punch that was LUCKY. GSP won't go in wildy swinging on someone anymore and get knocked out by a straight jab, while the guy hadn't looked up for 5 seconds.
Diaz beat a WILD Daley with a lucky shot. Daley was whooping his ass and should of won. Daley another dumbass.
GSP I believe is smarter than Daley and Lawler. He won't let Diaz dictate the fight. Plain and Simple.
But hey that's just what a NOOBS opinion is. MMA PRO's think that Diaz will dictate this fight and bait GSP to fight on someone elses gameplan.

I can't rally say who is the better striker. Diaz is un-orthodox. I wouldn't consider him a world class striker. But it damn sure is effective.

How can you use the word lucky with diaz? Lucky applies to a lucky punch. Like the check kongo fight. Diaz knocks people out and down with a flurry of un-orthodox punches. Hard to call that luck. That robbie lawler fight was a brawl. Not a lucky punch.

I guess I should say GSP is real smooth and moves in and out nicely, however rarely ever commits for the kill shots. Becomeing a boring fighter to watch and is becoming a decision maufacturer. GSP by dec hedged with Diaz KO/TKO of the night would be nice also.
Regardless, I am always looking forward to MMA

I can't say I've ever seen Diaz just stand up with someone and throw anything other than that jab EFFECTIVELY. I've seen him catch people with punches in "brawls" where both guys are just flailing there arms around and EVERY punch looks ugly. I've seen GSP put on some decent stand up matches that are leaps and bounds above anything I've seen from Diaz, but this was 5 years ago, or however long ago. GSP fights to win now, he doesn't have an urgency.

Yes that Lawler fight was a brawl.
They weren't in a clinch or up against the fence or anything. Lawler ran the fukk in there with arms SWINGING wildly, and Diaz just happened to throw a jab, looked lucky, not like a precision strike. How can it be a precision strike when you're backing up and head down/eye's closed while the opponent is 10 feet away starting to run at you?
I know I'm just a noob and all, but I've seen a little MMA. That's just my opinions, none of us are pro's and I think we can all have our thoughts on how this fight will end up.
I'm going out on a limb and disagreeing with you, as GSP will dictate this fight, and your boy Diaz won't be making GSP do anything he doesn't want to do.

I agree with you on this. However, if you think about it so does Nick Diaz. When was the last time you saw someone look smart against Diaz? Diaz made Gomi look foolish at a time in Gomi's career when he was considered one of the best in the world. He makes virtually everyone he fights look foolish. I'm not saying he'll be able to do this against GSP but I think Greg Jackson is going to have call an audible when he realizes his straight forward game plan isn't working.
Also, I think Diaz's lack of power is deceiving. He rocked Lawler more than once and as far as I know he was the only one to ever KO him. I think he's the only one to ever KO Daley as well. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Diaz does the same to GSP. GSP was KO'd by Matt Serra if I remember correctly. I'll take Diaz's striking over Serra's any day of the week. I do realize the GSP of today has improved immensely.
Lucky for GSP he's got Greg Jackson in his corner and he can call audible as well as Peyton Manning. Will it be enough? I think it's going to be an extremely close fight with the first 2 or 3 rounds going to Diaz.
