I don't think so. I don't think their motive is just do goodery. I think the US is going to legalize online poker but only thru their govt sanctioned site and this is their way of stealing 3 billion before it gets going. They're not going to legalize sports wagering within the next 5 years IMO so there would be nothing in it for them to go after sports books.

I do not think you want the government to run sports betting. Up here in Canada we have that, something called pro-line and it is horrible. From the odds to the fact that you cant wager on just one game. It has to be parlays. In Ontario, Pro-Line use to have NBA until Toronto was given a franchise and one of the provisions was that Pro-Line had to take out the NBA portion of wagers to get the team.

It's all about FREEDOM. I know that there are taxes involved but how can people be told how to spend their own money whether it's hard earned or not. I played full time for about five years up until a little after the UIGEA was enacted and I couldn't disagree with your statement more. Yes, the passing of the UIGEA was incredibly shady, but done so under the laws of this country. It was a terrible piece of legislation, barely enforceable as written etc. These big sites didn't go the way of Party, leave the market, pay a fine and hope for legislation. The said **** it, got way bigger, kept advertising their cute little .net commercials, live events etc. They got so big and taunting that the only way to process the shitload of payments was TO BUY A FUKKING BANK...what do you expect the government to do?

I'm glad I live in a retirement area with very few young people. Most people over 20 flee this place in a heart beat. I did , but I got sucked back due to family obligations.
