Yep, the History Channel's right. I remember learning about this crap during a 'Drug Usage & Abuse' course (back in college).

White people swore that Blacks were using cocaine (even though most of them couldn't afford it). The fear consisted of cocaine turning Blacks into "super humans," capable of rising up against their oppressors (White people) and overthrowing the American government (upsetting the American social order of Whites first, Blacks second). The fear didn't become that widespread until the "October Revolution" in Russia. White people used the social uprising in Russia as a "warning" and "justification" for making cocaine illegal in the U.S.

Opium is bad bad stuff. A good friend of mine died of an overdose. All they found in his system was weed, acohol and opium. They think he drank the liquid form of opium. So yeah, don't do that...or there's a good chance you won't wake up.

What are you kidding? I only use a little Coke from time to time on special occasions like Friday or something but I've never seen a chick take a couple of lines and not be a horn dog. I shit you not. The two kids were staying with the some friends that were in pharmaceutical school. When they died, I figured they took some bad pills or something. I'm not sure if it was ever in the news articles, but I was close with his mother and she shared the toxicology results with my roommate and myself when it finally came out. The opium tincture was found in the apartment and the kids that owned it told the cops there was some missing. They ruled out alcohol poisoning, as their BAC wasn't very high at all. It could have been the mixture of the alcohol and the opium, but I am pretty sure it was ruled an opium overdose.

I don't have time right now, but I can try to find an article if you are going to call me a liar again. But as I said, I think the toxicology results were kept private.
