    Worst sports bad beat
What's the craziest 'bookie's bounce' a ball or puck has ever befallen unto you.

Please factor in the wager size and type. For example lossing the last leg of a ten team parlay, or a straight play in football that had a field goal bounce off the upright.

No poker bad beats please, just crazy, insane, the universe is out to get me sports betting nightmares.

Back in 2007 Sports Interaction would let you bet on longest field goal made length (usually O/U 43.5 yds). During the AFC and NFC championship games I parlayed both games and bet the longest FG to be under 43.5 yards. Pats/Chargers game goes by without too much worry; Packers/Giants game, Tynes misses a 40 yarder w/ 8 mins left in the game, a 37 yarder w/ time running out in regulation, then makes a 47 yarder ftw.

Last night in the ODU/JMU first half the spread was ODU -1.5. JMU had the ball down 1 with 3 seconds left, made a bad pass, ODU stole it and canned a 3 at the buzzer. That had to be a bad beat for some people, luckily I was on the right side

Indiana -2 (bought half point)...up one with four seconds left. Team has to foul to put IND on the free throw line. Pass goes right off IND player so NW gets last shot.

Not the worst but it did irk me

Lightning vs Hurricanes two weeks ago. I have under 6...game is 3-1 and under 1 minute left. Carolina then scores with 52 seconds left, pulls their goalie and scores again 19 seconds later to make it 3-3 and that would give me a push. Nope Tampa Bay scored a minute and a half into overtime for a loss.

That's cheap you pay candy money for gas.

Here in EU we pay $1.85/liter and that's $7/gallon. (1.85*3.78)

You price will actually follow our price in 1-2 year. That's how it was in the last few decades.

                                    Worst ever?

$800 live in game on a soccer game, dont recall who was playing, but the line was -1.5 live, they were up by 2 with a few minutes to remain, not even 20-30 seconds after i submit my wager. GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL, the other team scores, a minute later, GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL the other team scores.

                                    fuk soccer.

Years back on MNF when Pitt was playing Jax and Pitt was kicking a fg to end game. Only way Jax could cover number was a block returned for a TD. Of course it happend and Cowher almost tackled the Jags player as he was running down sideline. A 6 figure swing for my booking operation. Shot one of my tvs in disgust.

Lots and lots but maybe the most memorable was in the 1990 Breeders Cup.

Dayjur (the best sprinter I have ever seen) came over from the UK and had never run on dirt before and have never run round a turn. For this reason the odds were about 7/4 (+175). Everything I has seen on the horse led me to believe that his action would handle dirt without any problem and I had my biggest ever bet on a horse race.

Going into the final furlong, it was neck and neck with Safely Kept (another great sprinter) but Dayjur began to edge ahead and with 20yds to go was going to win by a neck or so. At that point though, the horse jumped a shadow which was cast across the track which allowed the American horse to get up by a head. Gutted and still remember it like it was yesterday.

My two worst beats that I can recall:

                                                          1. Memphis-UAB 2nd half UNDER 71. 19 points scored in the final minute of the game.
                                                          2. Leafs and someone. Had UNDER 5.5. 3 seconds left and somehow an empty netter got scored off the faceoff.

2006 had Baltimore Orioles as last leg of a 4 team parlay with a payout of 4600$. They take a 5-1 lead into the ninth and in comes Chris Ray who hadn't blown a save all year I believe 24 for 24 or something close to that. He gets the first 2 outs and proceeds to give up 4 runs with 2 outs in the ninth. In the bottom of the 9th Alfredo Amezaga makes a full extension diving catch to rob Brian Roberts of a game winning hit. Then in the 10th Baltimore is trying to intentionally walk Miguel Cabrera and he swings at the pitch and lines a single up the middle for the game winning run. I then try to throw my remote against the couch but miss and break the living room window and the remote as well. That day I will never forget.

I had the HEAT -5.5 1st half vs the Knicks the other night.

Up 14 with 4 minutes to go and the Knicks went on a 16-0 run.

Luckily I doubled down with the Knicks 2nd half =D

We were all up a good amount from the day before and were enjoying steaks. We saw the Kentucky Derby was on that day and were joking around about all throwing $50 each of our winnings on the longest shot horse (Jacqamo *spelling) I think he was like 45 to 1. There was 5 of us, so the payout would be pretty sweet. My buddy was going to call his room mate and have him put the bet in for us but we ended up forgetting about it. Needless to say we watched it live in the poker room and almost threw up when Jacqamo became the longest shot to ever win I believe
