TMZ following Jay Cutler walking around a mall today.
    That's some serious injury.

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler mustered up enough toughness to stroll around an L.A. shopping center with his girlfriend Kristin Cavallari yesterday ... TOUGH!!!!!!

With MCL tears along with ACL tears you can move forward just fine, you can even run. its the lateral stuff that is devastating

It's perception though. Stay home for a week or two and let it blow over.

Chicago needs to get rid of him, you cannot have a player like that on your team.

anyone hear trent dilfer on rome today? tore cutler a new a-hole.

and i agree with perception being the reality. when derek anderson was seen smiling during a blowout loss, everyone questioned his heart and character even though it lasted a second. so not surprising when cutler rides a bike, walks around and climbs stairs people are going to question his toughness.

even dilfer played with a sprained mcl, why couldnt cutler?

                  Really?

Even in the best-case scenario, it appears the Seattle Seahawks will be without Trent Dilfer for the regular-season opener and perhaps the first month of the campaign after the starting quarterback tore the medial collateral ligament in his right knee in a preseason game Saturday night.

Dilfer injures MCL in right knee, out at least a month
                  By Len Pasquarelli
                  ESPN.com

Even in the best-case scenario, it appears the Seattle Seahawks will be without Trent Dilfer for the regular-season opener and perhaps the first month of the campaign after the starting quarterback tore the medial collateral ligament in his right knee in a preseason game Saturday night.

The news could have been worse for Seahawks starting quarterback Trent Dilfer.
League sources confirmed the MCL tear and, while such injuries typically do not require surgery, the normal rehabilitation period is between four and eight weeks. The sources also said initial indications were that Dilfer did not tear the anterior cruciate ligament, which would have sidelined him for the entire season.
Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren, who acknowledged Saturday night there was some ligament damage, confirmed Monday afternoon that Dilfer has an MCL injury and will be out four to eight weeks. The Seahawks are calling the injury a sprain, however, that appears to be just semantics. By definition a sprained ligament is almost always torn, and that is indeed the case with Dilfer's injury. Given the timetable for his recovery, an educated guess is that he sustained a second-degree sprain, a partial tear, of the ligament.

Dilfer was injured in the second quarter when hit by Indianapolis defensive linemen Chad Bratzke and James Cannida. He crumpled to the turf clutching his knee. Bratzke hit Dilfer high as he released the ball, and Cannida came in low. Dilfer had completed nine of 11 passes before being injured.
The eight-year veteran re-signed with Seattle in March, getting a four-year contract that could be worth as much as $18 million, and Holmgren named him the starter at the time. Dilfer, 30, has won his last 19 starts, including four in 2001.
In his absence, former starter Matt Hasselbeck will re-assume the No. 1 job. Holmgren said Saturday that if Dilfer is sidelined for an extended period the Seahawks might have to sign a veteran free agent. The options there are slim, and include names like Tony Banks, Dave Brown, Jeff George, Paul Justin and Scott Mitchell.
It is unlikely the Seahawks would attempt to bring back Ryan Leaf, who abruptly retired at the start of training camp last month.

                            after the game....

For all the Cutler haters, here's more ammunition, courtesy of a local paper. According to the Chicago Tribune: "Jay Cutler and girlfriend Kristin Cavallari dined at Mastro's Steakhouse on Sunday after the Bears' 21-14 loss to the Packers in the NFC championship game.
"Cutler, who left the game in the third quarter with a knee injury, was not on crutches but 'he limped a tiny bit,' according to a source. The couple was joined by 11 other people in Mastro's private upstairs dining room, and our spies tell us that he took the stairs rather than the elevator."

Cutler was benched, he did not take himself out of the game. Had he done the latter then all of this criticism would be justified. And for those of you thin skinned Nancys that need to see him with a limp or on crutches in order for this injury to be "real" turn in your ******* man card. This guy doesn't owe you all anything especially to fake a limp to make this injury appear more real

In my book he's not a fraud just not a great NFL QB. Probably a good 2nd team QB. If your Manning, Rodgers, Flacko goes down you send in Cutler until the starter is well. He simply misses too many receivers at critical times. Recall the 2nd drive against the Packers on a 3rd and 9 they ran about a 18 yard out pattern and the WR was wide open but Cutler sailed the ball 10 yards over his head. It was kind of his signature play. Missing open WR's at critical times.

MCL is much of the same deal. People need to chill and stop thinking that him walking around means anything about the injury.
