#4Well considering they havent lost a game in conference all season, I'd say they are ok. . .
IMO the deserve a Number 1 seed no matter what,
They clearly have had the best regular season.Comment -

well, this is a what if. i know mem should win their conf tourney, but if they were to lose would they still be a 1. they havent lost in conference in 2 years, i know its not likely to happen this weekend.
also
I don't think they've had the best regular season. There are a boat load of teams that could have gone undefeated in conf USA imo.Comment -

#6UCLA would get a 2 if they don't win the Pac 10 Tournament. (UNC, Memphis, Tennessee, Kansas would get 1s). So I would say Memphis is 99% safe and UNC is at least 75% safe. Other than that, no guarantees.Comment -

#7the short answer is no. if 4 of the top 8 teams run the table in their conference tourneys, then they will get it over the other 4 teams. its okay for a top team to lose in the 2nd or 3rd game of their conf tourney as long as the other top teams do as well. we will have to see what happens between tomorrow and sunday.Comment -

#9I think Memphis or North Carolina would have to slip early in thier tourneys to lose their status as #1 seeds. As close to locked up as can be at this point.Comment -

#10UNC should be a lock, unless they get booted after their first game in the ACC tourney.Comment -

#11correct and incorrect at the same time. it depends on what the other top teams do. if ucla loses in a hard fought game in the semis or finals of the pac 10 tourney, they will likely still get the #1 seed. they wont care if theyre #1 or #2, as long as they get to stay out west, going to anaheim and then phoenix. remember, last two yrs ucla was #2 seed both times and made final 4 both times, get it?Comment -

#12i agree with this statement, memphis and unc are the closest to locked up #1 seeds, the rest we do not know yet, lots of conf tourney action will determine final #1 and #2 seedsComment -

Could a boat load of teams win @ UCONN. @ Oklahoma, Gtown, Arizona, by double digits and beat USC along w/ Gonzaga and @ Cincy?Comment -

Uconn early in the year, not what they are now. that win was not 'at' uconn, btw.
gtown - great win at home.
OU? eh tied with baylor in the big-12? thats ok. that game was not 'at' OU, btw.
AZ? garbage
USC? eh
Gonzaga? eh
Cinci? hopefully that part was a joke.Comment -

It wasn't like Tennessee blew them out. And it isn't like Tennessee is a shabby team.Comment -

#21It will be intresting to see how both Memphis and Tennesse executes in the half court, when they get slowed down the tournament. . .
Also I think Tennessee might be drained from a brutle last week and 1/2 and probaly won't win the SEC tournament. . .
If they did win it , then they probaly deserve a #1 depending on how the other top contenders do in their tournaments.Comment -

If the vols win the SEC tourney they should be the #1 overall seed.

#26If UCLA loses in the Pac 10 tourney and Tennessee and Kansas win their tournaments, don't be surpirised if your Vols get shipped West as the 1. Would be either them or Memphis, and sinceTigers are currently ranked higher, they'd probably get preferred South top seed. No doubters would be UNC East and Kansas Midwest.Comment -

choke? yeah, either that or lose to an RPI top 10 team 40 hours after beating the AP/Coaches #1 team on the road. yeah, choke. the refs in that game were interesting. dont forget about that.
hey, congrats to bama on la monroe in foots and another great NCAAB season. bama couldn't beat the SBR staff in hoops.

#29tenn. should get the 1 if they win the conf. tourney. the only thing thats a lock is that there aint nobody in conf. usa that can beat memphis....especially since the tourney is in memphis.Comment -

2 seed in the south or east would be better than a 1 in the west. i cant see that happening.Comment -
