Face it, folks: much as we love it, the NFL is a minor league. It's a domestic title, nothing more. But it does have instant replay, which soccer desperately needs. And it cares about corruption, which soccer definitely doesn't.Comment -

#179And about ties: if neither team could win straight up, why artificially determine a winner with a coin flip? I like soccer's honesty in that regard.
And as to 0-0: I've seen great, great games end like that. And I've seem moronic NBA games where the scoring was >220. I prefer a sport where a goal means something.
Look, I don't understand NASCAR. But I don't knock it. I don't know why anyone would knock other sports. In fact, no one does, with one exception: something about soccer scares some Americans (not most Americans, just a small minority, which is part of what frightens the small minority; or maybe I should say "little"). Is it that soccer players get the girls, because they aren't cows with bad knees like ex-NFL players? Is it the lack of subtle homosexuality that football has, so you can't "prove" your manhood by watching it while at the same time stoking (stroking?) your latent homosexual desires? Or is it that soccer will one day pass the other sports in popularity here (it just keeps growing and growing and growing ... )?
A mystery for the ages.Comment -

#180The reason there are ties in soccer is because the season is 40 games long and each team plays all others at least once at home and on the road. So this is a true champion because it faced all other teams. No need to decide ties because the win worths 3 points and the tie worths 1 point.
In NFL teams play only 1/3 of the other teams hence they play OT to determine winner and determine seedings for playoffs. Different game different format.Comment -

I'm sorry, but I have never seen a great game with no score. 0-0 makes no sense. You play any game to score.Comment -
