    Arguements @ the bar
    Listen,

I go to a local bar a few times a week. I know the owners and everybody who works there. Just was curious how many people get into confrontations @ their local bar.

Constantly people are talking about sports and they have no clue what they are talking about. You guys know me by know, im not one to swallow my words. I can't stand when people are so wrong when they are talking about sports. Im talking about major sh*t, like they have no clue what they are talking about but swear they are right.

I sit their for a while, but eventually my words are going to get involved. Its funny for a while listening to two other people argue but then they just get out of line.

Im not an agressive person physically but i've had my share of fights over sports because people just piss me off when they are so off but think they are right.

    Am I the only one?

I know what you mean about sports-ignorance at bars. I can stay quiet though, I just remind myself that those morons are the guys that keep sportsbooks in business.

Wow. You sound like you're fun to get drunk with...............(excessive periods for sarcasm purposes)

A few things I hate in life are table coaches at poker, and bar coaches at sports knowledge, just raise your glass and let some dude ramble on even if he's wrong. No need to turn a night out drinking into some petty altercation about sports talk.

I'm not bro but I just disagree with you on this. If people are really wrong about something with sports, no need to school them, especially at a bar atmosphere. They are just there to have a good time like you, not pass a trivia or general knowledge test.

                  I love ya Lvkd1.

You should see the guys in New York, especially when guys come in with rival jerseys on, it is embarrassing to live here sometimes. I've vacationed places like Green Bay, and down there you have people buying each other drinks even in different jerseys, telling jokes etc. Not like the uptight assholes out here.

Still waiting. What makes this poster believe he is the judge, jury, and executioner in a bar when he doesn't like the way a sports conversation is going...and I dont give a **** if they know what're talking about or not. Who gives you or the others the right to intervene? Becareful, someday, you may do that and run into a buzzsaw and get your ass kicked. And from what I've read it would be well deserved.

LVKid, Crazy is right on with his advice. I mean really, who the hell cares what some guy(s) thinks about any aspect of sports when you're at your local watering hole? Not worth the trouble, and it's amazing how much trouble can accumulate in a matter of seconds when alcohol is involved.

I let 'em spout off, respectfully disagree, then order another beer.....Who gives a rat's ass?

                                  Kid,
I know what you are talking about. It is always the loudest guy in the bar. He hardly ever has a clue about what he is talking about and doesn't even care about anybody else's opinion.(Including his friends he's there with.)

It's hard to ignore, but I try my best because it is next to impossible to reason with them or even carry on a decent conversation. It's usually the "one up" type guy. You know, the one who has been everywhere you have and done everything you've done and always adds something a little bit more.

Unfortunately, they are everywhere. But, here in South Carolina, they are fewer and further apart than most places; Especially up north. No offense to Northerners, because I have met some good guys and gals from northern states. But there is always some loudmouth that knows me better than myself.

The reason political debates aren't all that fun is because people get too heated. once people get genuinely angry about sports discussions (and it happens often) i can't help but laugh. people act like they want to fight about a sports debate, but they don't. its comical that people fight more over someones elses life than they do their own. ive been in some heated debates, but if someone is going to get upset you either swing or laugh. i don't have much patience for the bar 'show down'.

The only brawl I've ever had over sports was at Yankee Stadium with a Red Sox fan. He was a sore loser with a big mouth, and the best part was, he lost twice that day. The Sox got stomped, and he got rocked.

I know exactly what you are talking about,I use to do the same thing,I played college football,so I figured I knew a little bit about, what I was talking about so I would get so furious trying to talk sense in these morons around here.I don't know how it is where you guy's live ,but trying to talk sense into an obnoxious Alabama fan is almost impossible.....Now I'm 40 yearsold and there is a place where I stop when I get off work, and thats all everybody talks about.I just laugh at them now I don't say a word because I learned a long time ago you can beat them until their senseless, and it won't help, they will just walk away from it thinking your a jerk. That's how oblivious these idiots are.So save your fist the pounding, and your blood pressure from boiling and just remember who's talking, and consider it entertainment.Remember an idiot is an idiot it doesn't matter what you do to them, because they will never understand why.

If people are really wrong about something with sports, no need to school them, especially at a bar atmosphere. They are just there to have a good time like you, not pass a trivia or general knowledge test.
I have to disagree, buddy. There are TONS of drunks that go into bars looking to pick a fight...and they know sports is the way to do it.

I live in Rhode Island. Pats/Sox/Celts RULE around here. A few years ago, we were playing the Yankees (can't remember if it was a play off game) and I was watching at one of my favorite sports bars. There was one Yankee fan in there. One. Now, I'm not saying don't go out and rout for your team, we have a lot of military transplants, so we have verying fans...but this guy was out of control. The Sox/Yanks rivalry is UGLY....drunk Boston fans are not the kind of people you want to mess with. But again, every man has a right to go out and cheer on their boys. HOWEVER, when you jump up, run around the bar and stare down each and every man in the place afterwards daring someone to say something, you are asking to get your ass kicked. That guy wanted to start a fight. Luckily, everyone showed restraint.
