That season that the Bulls put together isn't going to be matched for a long time. You had the best player in NBA history who bought into a strategy that worked from a hall of fame coach and lots of talented role players. The Lakers are just not the same type of team and even if Kobe wins 3 more rings, he is not Jordan.

they won't care enough to do it. the nba regular season is like going to the circus. they go through the motions on most nights. the travel wears down players and being on the west coast means more travel than most teams. there is no incentive to burn out your team in the regular season and have nothing left for the playoffs.
