not really. Think about this. They played an Oklahoma team that blew their shot at a National Title (kinda like Utah/Bama). They beat a TCU team who was snubbed from the National Title game. They end up getting teams that aren't really motivated to be there and play them, yet, it is their Super Bowl. If they played in the title game it would be a totally different story. No way they could stop Bama's power running game in a title game. Bigger. stronger, faster athletes wouldn't get beat if motivated.

Hate to say this, but I was kind of glad that a few of Boise's starters got hurt right at the end of the game. These fuking teams that try to run the score up and leave their starters in way to long deserve to get punished. You are so far off it is not even close. Not even close. The Big 12 is very weak. Boise beats any Big 12 team on a neutral site. They could defeat any Big 10 team on a neutral site. Who'se going to beat them? Michigan State with no defense? Ohio State? Wisconsin? Boise has already defeated Oregon State of the Pac 10, and churshed Oregon, the defending Pac 10 Champion, last year. The only conference that would give Boise State problems is the SEC, if they played Alabama or Auburn. The rest of the SEC is rather shabby this season.

I think this is a point that everyone is overlooking. Can Boise State beat any team on any given week? Yes, they could probably beat 95% of the teams in Div. 1, but put them in any of the major conferences. Where they have to play legitimate competition every week, and they lose a few games every year.

Lastly, please stop referring to Oregon State as a significant win. They are 3-3 with the 79th offense and the 117th ranked defense. Sounds like a real quality team to me.

particularly when they demand 7 figures for a 3-game series in which they'd visit Lincoln twice with UNL coming to Boise once. real big time move there. i have no problem with Boise State, but given their schedule, relative to teams from real/major conferences (so, excluding the ACC and Big East this season), they begin the season with 1 1/2 losses and shouldn't be mentioned until everyone else has lost twice. period.

will that change in the move to the Mountain West? perhaps. only time will tell, but it's good that the BCS results in some manner of darwinism to improve the sport. right now, the WAC is the MAC + Boise State or the Sun Belt + Boise State, and winning any of those leagues means absolutely zero in terms of national title qualifications.

also, anyone demanding a playoff on behalf of Boise State should really re-think the logic of that position. they can absolutely beat anyone on any given day, but that can be said of many other teams, and none of them are likely to run a 3- or 4-game playoff gauntlet.
