i just like the idea of being able to get your money as soon as the game is over and not waiting 48 hours and paying fees but there are so many other forms of gambling that would kill my bankroll as well, my mom lives in california about a half hour from reno so i might visit her and see what its like to bet legally for a while.
thats what i like best about gambling here, i can get my money right away. i dont really shop lines all that much because i am lazy and dont want to drive around town, there are three books (stations, coast and cannery resorts) right by me so thats as far as I go. i feel bad when i read all the issues guys have with gettin cash offshore.

I love visiting Las Vegas -- visiting being the key word. I personally could not live there because it would be too much or simply lose its appeal.

It is such a pain in the ass to go from book to book. I use to do it and it is such a drain, and I never hit the strip casinos. That would of added to the pain, as traffic down there is terrible. Sometimes by the time I got to the book with the better odds, it had changed already. Unless you have a runner or two, it won't work to well. Really though, you could camp at the Hilton and do well on lines. I just ended going back to offshore. Just think of the fees to withdrawal (lots of books offer 1 free withdrawal a month), as the gas you would have to put in your car.
Then you have the high unemployment as others have said. It isn't a easy task to find a job here. The big plus right now is the housing market. Houses are for the taking right now, if you can get approved for one and aren't worried about the job market. You can get a 30 year fixed for 4% and a 15 year fixed for 3.625% right now at the local credit union.
The cost of living here is not that high either. Also no state income tax.
How are you with hot summers? Gets pretty uncomfortable here in the summer time. Hardly anytime with perfect weather. Either too hot, or too cold. Right now, I probably would consider perfect. LOL!
I'm with the person about having a plan B. Don't leave yourself hanging if you do decide to try it out. Have something to fall back on. Try renting out here first and test the grinding out of traveling from book to book. You will also have the temptation of the other types of gambling out here. You would to be very discipline.
All in all it will be your call, and if you do decide to do it. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy it.
