#74I still am a bit confused.
I don't post often and truthfully don't read other posts too often. I am getting the distinct impression that some of you have issues with Fish. Maybe, they are legitimate issues, don't know. But, all of this arguing over whether a book is good or not seem a little bit ridiculous to me. I am imagining that there is history between a few of you and that is a big portion of this discussion.
Bottom line is I like the book. I don't think it makes me elite or a loser. I just like the book. Period.
Some of us simply correctly pointed out that this is a worthless thread.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#80dante, this is a completely pointless thread.
It's about a book few can use, and Fishhead doesn't even give details about what he's talking about.
The point of this forum is to share information. This thread does not achieve that goal. If Heritage members want to tell each other how great they are, I'm sure you can figure out how to create a mailing list.
Yis
Maybe so, I just answered fish when he said he was happy with his deal with Heritage. That's all. Now I heard some people bitch because he didn't go into details about what he got. Well I have no problem telling what I got, if that is the problem. Maybe, I can make the thread more useful.
First deposit bailout. Lose first deposit of a considerable amount and they will place it back in your account
The entire deposit. With a 5 time roll.
Free reload deposits on every 6th deposit.
Get out of bet twice a month, cancel it at half if you want. free I did this already and it paid off
30% cash bonus on deposit.
20% rebate bonus on losses week before Super Bowl, hope I don't need this one.
For a deposit of over $2000 they will give you a personally signed picture of Pete Rose, I got this but it was not very important. Still it is a perk.
Lay 108
All in all I think this is a good deal.
Hope this helps for those moaning about fish and his secrecy.Last edited by dante1; 09-17-10, 04:57 PM.Comment -

#81There's a reason it's by invitation only, they don't want players that will beat their brains in. Consider it an insult to be a member of this joint unless you wanted a Pete Rose autograph, LOL. It's like a poker player bragging they send a limo for him to the game....

#82The funny thing is I have read over the past year Pete Rose has been signing autographs for free via mail. Send him what you want.

#85No sour grapes Dante, at least not from me, in fact I know Fish personally and have a ton of respect for him. That said we all know this is a book that is not designed for anyone that has a clue. It's for guys like you who said earlier you don't think anyone wins at this, book or player. Heritage is one down from square books like BoDog, SIA and other shops that only book to losers, those places let you sign up and run you when they see you aren't a clown, Heritage tries to block you before you ever make your first bet. Invitation only, common sense would tell you a book isn't going to want anyone with a clue. Congrats you are a member, why not hit the Think Tank and improve your game in the future, those limos don't come cheap. 'Nuff said.Comment -

No, not enough said yet. I will have my say now.
I will wager that I am a little older than you. I have played and booked for many many years. In fact, I bet on the first Super Bowl. I ran a book in a NE city for many decades. I have seen literally 100's of players and listened to their bs for years and years and years. All of them winners, but not really.
Oh, you may win a season. You may even win for a year, but that is extremely rare. Winning in the very long run, say 10 years is almost unheard of. You don't do it, and almost nobody does. I don't care what you say or how you swear or anything else. You see my friend. I have been there. I have seen it all. I have listened to people like you most of my life. Big winners, but they never win. Here is what I am saying, if you gamble you can believe that in the long run, the very long run you will be a loser. It is simply a matter of probability. People like you don't understand that. You guys think you have all the answers, when in reality you are all full of shit.
I could easily prove it to you and most everybody else with a year challenge and book a very large bet with you and actually anybody else. But, why bother. It isn't worth it. You keep believing that you are a winner and keep playing, talk to me when you're 60 or 70. Of course, by then I will be gone.
Nobody wins, almost nobody, in the long run. The very long run, it's math my friend, just math.Last edited by dante1; 09-17-10, 05:43 PM.Comment -

#88The statement you made regarding winning a season, that is my experience. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a recreational gambler, I don't think I'm a pro and my bet amounts are more for fun than anything else. However, at least I can say OVERALL that I'm up on my returns, peanuts really but if you're gambling for fun, it's better to be 1 EURO ahead than losing money imo.
Two years ago whether It was luck or I just became a soccer genius for that soccer season. I was predicting the outcome of the majority of games, I got quite a few correct scores right 1st goalscorers even quite a few scorecasts.
I won a lot of money through that season, I'm still 'winning' now but nowhere near the level of winning I was doing then.
One thing I am proud of myself for, is not going over my max bet ever. I stuck to my guns and however tempting it was, would not bet over my max amount. In Ireland, you can walk around the corner, into a bookie and place a bet, there is thousands of them, to be barred from my local Ladbrokes and Boylesports because I was winning too much during Euro 2008 was pleasing and funny at the same time. I couldn't bet in that particular Ladbrokes and Boylesports but walk ten mins down the road, I could bet in one of their other shops.
In my opinion, you WILL win and you WILL lose, it's just trying to find a happy medium between the two
Oh and to try and keep this post at least some bit on topic, I can't get an account at heritage, I tried and failed.Comment -

#90Jonsey, glad I could help.
Lots of members collected on the FREE 500 HALFTIME wager last evening(not why I started this thread).
Our good friend and fellow basher ZETA hit them for a nice NICKEL, as did many other SBR'ers.
I had NCST, I guess that's why HERITAGE loves me..........BUT at least I was able to cancel the wager with them at halftime.

#97I got an invite from Heritage in the mail about a month ago. Never heard of them until I joined SBR. Glad I did. Got the same perks described above + a scratch off for another free $250 a couple of weeks later that I got in the mail. Don't know how or why I got the invite. Like the "get out of your bet at halftime prop" and the "almost parlays". Customer service is good.
I think it's a good book, not a million times better than many others, but real good so far.
One thing for sure -- discussion about Heritage sure gets things heated up around here every once in a while.Last edited by DEP78; 09-17-10, 06:19 PM.Comment -

Even in the states, years ago every city or town had a dozen books or more, big cities had hundreds. Today where I live it is difficult to find even a half dozen local guys. Internet took over and the local bookies days are truly numbered. Only people that play with them now are people that are shy with the money and people that don't want their significant other to know about their business.
Listen, I got shut down by a local too about 25 years ago. Yeah, I didn't even beat him for that much but I beat him two weeks in a row and that was that. I was very pissed, but I found another. And yes, you can have a good streak, you might even have a good year. Here is a little story, but a true story. In all my years of taking action I had only one guy who would constantly beat my brains in. He was incredibly lucky and he had great streaks in which he was winning many thousands of dollars many weeks in a row. But, in the long run he too lost. I remember many Sunday's when I had a dozen sheets of bets and not one winner. Now I am not saying nobody won a bet, I am saying that not one person made money for the day. Yeah, hard to believe but it happens. This is the reason I know that in the long run you are not going to win. There is no magic, it isn't about sports. It is about probability and math. When a event has a one in two chance of winning or losing and you must pay a vig then math dictates that the more chances made the greater the possibility of losing. Simple math. That is why, almost nobody wins.
Players, and many many times players are past athletes. For some reason we think we have an edge, we think we know more than everybody else, and we don't. Because it isn't sports, it's chance. I can preach this until I am blue in the face but many people will think that I am wrong. So be it. They will learn the hard way. Unless they are of the lucky 1% or less, so what are your chances?Comment -
