well jj. they might be captains and such. i make about 80k a year but i had to work my way up like any other job. our firefighters make what i stated before. when i got out of millitary in 1997 i started as an airport firefighter making 17k a year.

There's plenty of firemen that are exactly what JJ said they were: overpaid, lazy, and only firemen because it's a cozy government job.

That's not to say that all firemen are like that. But being from Jersey probably hasn't helped JJ's opinion. You could probably take the average property taxes a Jersey resident pays and buy year-round private security and fire protection 4 or 5 times over.

Well they were not heroes, they were guys that took an oath to do their jobs and got paid very well for it. It is part of the job although it was tragic.

The buildings actually withstood the impact of the 767 and had only minimal damage at the corner columns of a couple floors. But what doomed the towers wasn't the impact but the fire of 40,000 gallons of jet fuel burning at 2000 F that weakened the connections of each floor to the perimeter columns. Also the impact knocked off most of the fire protection from the steel floor joists further weakening their resistance to the scorching fire. The building did not have a sprinkler system and there was no way to put out the fire so all the effort from the fire department was put to evacuate as many people as possible before the buildings collapsed. The fact they stood up for 2 hrs before collapsing is a miracle itself.

lets get the facts straight.

707 is not half the size of the 767.

It was 10,000 gallons which would've be consumed within a few minutes.

It was 1,800 F, severe corrosion and subsequent erosion of the steel columns and no explanation for the source of the sulfer.

Firemen were trying to put out the fires. Ground zero's fires were burning for months after 9/11, the longest-burning structural fire in history.

NIST concluded that "the existing condition of the fireproofing prior to aircraft impact and the fireproofing thickness on the WTC floor system did not play a significant role".

The South Tower (2 WTC) stood for 56 minutes after being struck. It then collapsed in symmetrical form at near free fall speed.

The North Tower (1 WTC) stood for 102 minutes after being struck. It then collapsed in symmetrical form at near free fall speed.

Then about 7 hours later, officially due to fires on the 5th and 7th floor, 47 story skyscraper WTC Tower 7, collapsed in symmetrical form at near free fall speed.



How can any rational person see WTC 7 collapse and think it's anything other than a controlled demolition?
