Always the way, another forum will take over the important, interesting technical niche if SBR allow this to continue.

They need to chose a path, and unfortunately seem to be choosing the degenerate one.

I used to read most threads here in the main forum, now I open up the main page, do a quick scan and close it.. there are probably some good threads I don't get to read, but they get lost in the mass of nonsense that has recently found its way in.

no shit, i'm somewhat suprised to the reaction of the guys here. i post on a couple of boards and i have always been the type to welcome new posters and try and encourage them in this thing we do, this place is a bit odd in that it has a "social" club feel where newcomers are seemingly shunned. the funniest thing is the guys doing the shunning are posters i've never seen or heard of, are they all younger kids just getting into gambling? did they all come here together? do they in fact desire some of us newer guys to break camp and leave?

people just came over to post on a gambling forum. the man-drama 'i need attention by putting someone else down' threads have been started by people ive never heard of. hard to figure. there have been plenty of good gambling threads, tons of sports threads, but these threads are brining the atmosphere down and they're started by posters im unfamiliar with.

what with all the drama-queens. i post about sports and gambling, thats what i talk about. ive won more than i lost. people complain about picks and sports, but ive won and posted 99% sports here and in the sports forums. it would make a bit more sense if your issues were based on facts, instead of fiction.

The complaint is just the recent surge of entirely OT threads. Players Talk has always been more of a central hangout where gambling stuff, book ratings, disputes are primarily discussed. You aren't the only one to cause this kind of uproar, I remember several "give JJ his own forum!" threads from my stint here, and even from my days just browsing the board. As you can see, JJ is well respected despite those comments, so it's nothing personal.

And yeah, you do create interesting topics, it's not those threads catching the negative feedback. It's the threads that maybe only your inner circle of friends understand, like the inside joke threads, or the "hey mofo", "mofo and so n so", "mo..." threads drawing the criticism. Maybe an OT subforum would be cool since we've got a lot more active posters now..

Agree with this. This forum always had a clean feel, worth reading the threads to catch up with what's going on in the industry. Now it's like RX/EOG with just too much junk to filter through to make it worth the effort. Like everything else, it's a case of time taken vs Reward, and time taken is starting to get far too excessive.

Maybe you should learn how to use the PM feature first instead of starting a thread "Yo Mo" or "sending love to Ice". The vast number of these threads coupled with the JJ fluff threads, leaves very little room on the front page.
