On a basic level my health care experience is much better here. It's much cheaper and just as good.

Obviously any major cutting edge procedure you are better off going to the US. But after going through insurance hell for 5 years at 22 years old after having a major health issue in the US, I have no desire to repeat that experience. My insurance here costs 1/25th per year what it did there.

I have no experiences in South America, one of two continents I've never traveled to and I doubt I ever go to the other one (Antartica). But going through hell with an insurance provider is a far cry from the blanket statement that health care in the US is worse than 'most third world countries.'

I did find other pieces to support the general argument that US Citizens are leaving at a rate never seen before however and the economic impact it will have. I personally envision the number snowballing as the baby boomers retire.

No troubles, there should be ways to get a hold of more recent stats to support some of the implications in those articles to support it. Wouldn't really doubt that numbers are up, or have been up since Sep 11th. In fact, if the Canadian government would let me, I wouldn't mind retiring in Banff myself...of course, they won't let me, won't let hardly anyone -- even their own citizens -- simply choose to retire there (which isn't necessarily a bad thing since the Canadian Rockies are one of the most beautiful spots on this earth in my opinion, and part of the reason they are so beautiful is Canada has really choked off development in the area).

I've never had a need for the fire department at my house, yet I don't resent the fact that my tax dollars help fund the fire department and to help those that need it.

Too bad that many people don't fully grasp that a country prospers as a whole and not as individuals. Your tax dollars may just be helping to educate your fellow citizens. Perhaps those that can not afford it should be uneducated, that will really help the country as a whole wouldn't it?

I don't necessarily define this as 'America', though. A thoroughly corrupt system, yes. I would hope the idea, or ideal, of America goes deeper than that. Starting to have my doubts.

I don't know if Jews control America per se...but they certainly have a ton of influence over important sectors of American life (i.e. foregin policy, banking, business, academic, hollywood, etc....). I don't think anyone can deny that. Jews are disproportinately represented in the upper strata of society...more than any other minority/ethnic group.

Right now the only country benefiting from the U.S. presence in Iraq is Israel.....the only people who beneft from a war with Iran is Israel. Go figure....
