I haven't been paying attention much but players like Harper have to be loving this pitch clock. That guy takes 20 minutes an at bat messing with his batting gloves, stance, and bat on every pitch.

    To me this is insane.
what is next? You get one ball and one strike before each at bat in extra innings?
They gonna pull in the fences?
I really don’t understand what’s going on after 100 years they need to tinker with the rules so extensively to accommodate the low attention spans of tiktok generation. Fukk around and find out this will end up killing the game.

The beauty of the game was that it didn’t have a clock. These new rules are a travesty. Baseball purists are rolling over in their graves. That said, it’s now time to get to work figuring out how to find an edge and make money on these new ridiculous rules.

Well one would think totals would go up. You should see base stealing go up 10 fold. Pitchers who already had a shit pick off move will be even in a worse situation. I mean guys that are in the middle of speed will start trying it. Why not? You are going to see a massive up tick in base running because pitchers are now in a hard place. I guaranteed steals will go up by 400% or at least players trying. This rule is definitely in favor of a base runner.

I think in the long run it will favor the pitcher. He can let go any time after 8 seconds on the clock. The batter had to be ready at that point. And if he is not, too bad. And with PitchCom that is now in use the pitcher will have the sign almost instantly. There is a mic in the pitcher's hat.

What would Mike Hargrove of the Old late 70s Indians would have done with a pitch clock he got out of the box and did 20 different things!

What happens if a guy has a perfect game going into the 7, 8th inning and is completely gassed just trying to do something otherworldly ? They just gonna give a walk to a hitter for not maki g the pitch clock ?

If they want to speed up the game, they should ban Velcro

I believe you're wrong. Watch games from 30-40 years ago and notice how fast the pitcher throws the ball. This rule is going to make the players play the game the way they used to, without screwing around.

    I hear you.

Maybe they should have allowed like 5 clock infractions both sides per game before starting to penalize with balls and strikes. We'll see how it plays out.

    Totally ridiculous.
Do you really know people who leave a game because of the time limit?
Dodger fans will now exit the stands in the 7th inning rather than the 6th?

It's baseball folks...spend the afternoon with family, friends.
Enjoy the sun, conversation and the ol' ballpark.

There's a reason why they called Hargrove "The Human Rain Delay"
That lefty could rake though for a non power hitter.
Career .396 OBA too, only sixty that ever played the game had a career OBA of over .400

    Today's Mike Hargrove fun fact.
He had a higher career OBA then slugging percentage, that's extremely rare.

This is one of the strangest career slash lines for a career you'll ever see.
    .290/.396/.391

Otherwordly? These guyz are young and in fantastic shape. If you're gassed get the phuck outta the game.

The time clock is necessary. Pitchers and hitters have been taking liberty with the non-timed rules over the last few decades. I believe that these habits parallel with the sport falling out of popularity. Can you imagine how much worse the NCAA and NBA products would be without the 24 second shot clock?

I think what will be interesting is how totals will be affected by the clock/shift. There is a potential to exploit the numbers if you could read the tea leaves before the market makers have if/any effect baked into the lines.
