    Sure, he's a good jock. If a guy builds a name, he gets good rides...so he wins a lot.

    Invariably, I think these jocks get overbet. Show me a jock who you can bet to turn a profit. Hard to find.

    Happens more in harness than thoroughbreds

    But I have quit horses cold turkey so don't mind me

    I always root for OTHER GUYS to win. Until they give me a reason not to.

    Of course, MOST bettors get drilled at the races. Just based on the house take, if for no other reason.

    I really DO believe that a sophisticated bettor can clear a profit over time. I think the BEST horse-bettors understands how to structure a bet. Of course, they have to know more than that...bet there's a lot of hidden stuff going on.

    Some will say that NO ONE wins at the races if not privy to INSIDE INFO. But I don't believe that, either.

    my dad would agree with a lot of this. he loved horse betting.

    He is not a dominate rider , he still doe snot get the top horses on big races like the home grown NY Boys that are in tight with the trainers
