Billups to coach of the Blazers

Happy to see this. Billups is one of the sharpest basketball minds in the game today. Absolutely deserving of this. Probably one of the toughest all around players and floor generals of the 21st century. Almost won b2b rings.

Rapist with a "sharp mind" will force his way on the NBA West

Who did Kobe rape? Are you saying the girl who tried to extort him for money? Are you really that naive?

Case was dismissed. Because it was a girl looking for a free handout. Stop being a child and open your eyes. This happens everyday. Women accusing powerful, wealthy men of rape.

The only thing they can do to preserve their image is to pay them off and get them to sign something to shut them up.

Look at how many wealthy people and athletes have been accused of rape, and it has been proven to be false.

Don't fall for this stuff bro. You are better than this.

As a lifelong Blazers fan, even though Portland is a $hithole city great hire getting Billups. Thank god they didn't hire Becky Hammon but hope she gets a head coaching job in the wnba.

Yeah, kobe bryant, a guy who can get any girl in the world, raped someone. That makes complete sense. Such naive people in this world. Believe anything they read.

Huge move. Best coach they've ever had in their history. Billups's basketball mind is second to none, trust me on that. Have met him personally. True basketball genius, much like Kobe.

The players have too much power, Lillard basically runs the organization. Portland needs a defensive coach who has coached before not a guy who has never coached anything. 27 year old players shouldn’t be running organizations. Portland is at a point where they should be contenders but their defense is trash, it makes no sense to bring in someone who has never coached before.

Even if they couldn’t find a defensive coach they could have made a move for dantoni or Carlisle.

Billups better than Dantoni and Carlisle combined. Dantoni is a bum, never won a single ring. Carlisle hasn't done anything for 10 years.

Once. The day Kobe died, the psalm he had tatooed on his arm was read in Catholic churches around the world. Do you know what the odds of that happening are?

    Kobe was a chosen one.

    Goodnight.

Dallas had the best offense on the league last year, and Carlisle ran it. Dantoni has won every where he’s been except with the Lakers because Kobe was washed up and always hurt.

Dantoni won nothing. He has 0 rings. Never even made the finals once with a stacked Suns team. Dallas had the best offense in the league last year? They went home in the first round buddy boy. Your regular season accomplishments mean nothing to me.

From Wiki. Seems another black rapist gets a pass.

In 1997, Billups and fellow former Celtic
Ron Mercer were accused of sexually assaulting a woman at the home of teammate Antoine Walker. According to a civil suit, Billups, Mercer, and Walker's roommate, Michael Irvin, assaulted the woman at Walker's condo after leaving a Boston comedy club on November 9, 1997. A medical examination on the following day revealed injuries consistent with the victim's testimony. No criminal charges were filed, but Billups and Mercer settled a civil suit in 2000.

I don't think Billups is head coaching material. It's night and day to be a Head Coach and bench/assistant coach.

Phoenix was very good in the postseason too under dantoni, and Houston was the only team to take the Warriors with Durant to 7.

Is the object to win RINGS... or never win the big one? D'Antoni is a joke... that's why he can't even get a head coaching position. Who gives a flying fukk about the regular season.

Several teams determined to get a black coach - like a league mandate - but not willing to wait for the most accomplished one soon to hit the market. I guess they know it's going to be a major bidding war and don't want to be standing at the altar (mixing metaphors there ;/)

I read he's not enamoured with the situation in Atlanta -maybe to do with them firing his friend Loyd Pierce (which worked out rather well LOL). Maybe just encouraging other teams to bid on him.

Assistant coach under Tyrone Lue and and now head coach of Portland?

It remains to be seen whether or not there is an upgrade here.

    Not really.

It's an assumption to think every team is trying to win a ring, and it's an assumption that I know firsthand is wrong.

Some teams know they won't be winning a ring. Not everyone can even get a chance to win a ring.

The playing field does no start out equal.

KVB point I'm making... he'd be a head coach anywhere if his system was wanted and respected by the other NBA teams. It's not anymore. It's a losing product in the playoffs.
