    Do push-ups for a month then switch to dumbbells on a slight incline the next month.

    Pull ups should be done for low reps. They are a grip and isometric ab exercise at the expense of shoulder impingement. 5 reps or under with a challenge to the grip (towels, tennis balls, baseballs)
