    They want to have the teams operate the sportsbooks. I guess that is how they figure they can end run it.

    Texas politicians are not real bright so they will screw it up but I didn't figure they could hold out for too long with other R states on board.

    The only thing that matters is they get something going.

    I’m in Florida and my guess is we will be the last to see sports wagering if ever. Seminole tribe has to much influence, although there is a bill that’s going to be introduced this year to let the Florida lottery handle sports wagering, the kicker is a 15% tax on winnings

    They will vote to approve anything that provides an opportunity for politicians to line their pockets. Guaranteed there will be lobbying and contributions to these politicians to convince them to approve it. Of course there will be 10X more money given to these politicians under the table than publicly announced. One of the most corrupt states in the country. New York and Illinois are chumps compared to the corruption in Texas.

    Gambling is regressive taxation and it primarily taxes the lower class so it is fairly irresistible for Texas.

    In Texas, churches rent buses to take old ladies to Shreveport to gamble.

    This is moving. A bill has been put forward. If it passed, it would go to voters. Pretty sure it would be approved if it gets to voters.

    Online only. They would cap providers at five. 6.25% tax rate.

    No betting on Texas college teams.

    There are actually two bills pending.
