Money talks in Texas and Texans love to gamble. How long can the American Taliban hold it off?
Oops. Texas considering gambling.

#3They want to have the teams operate the sportsbooks. I guess that is how they figure they can end run it.
Texas politicians are not real bright so they will screw it up but I didn't figure they could hold out for too long with other R states on board.
The only thing that matters is they get something going.Comment -

#7Texas approved fantasy a year or two ago so it is not a real big stretch. They are already used to the idea and that was pretty easy.Comment -

#10I’m in Florida and my guess is we will be the last to see sports wagering if ever. Seminole tribe has to much influence, although there is a bill that’s going to be introduced this year to let the Florida lottery handle sports wagering, the kicker is a 15% tax on winningsComment -

#12Gambling is regressive taxation and it primarily taxes the lower class so it is fairly irresistible for Texas.
In Texas, churches rent buses to take old ladies to Shreveport to gamble.Comment -

#13I hope. They should put a casino in Galveston, TX. I’d be there daily, that’s basically my backyard.
I’d never go to Vegas again if they put casinos in Texas.Comment -

#18This is moving. A bill has been put forward. If it passed, it would go to voters. Pretty sure it would be approved if it gets to voters.
Online only. They would cap providers at five. 6.25% tax rate.
No betting on Texas college teams.
There are actually two bills pending.Comment -

#20Well this was put forth by a Dem so not much chance. But the fact that they are putting bills forward just means it is a matter of time and Texas even putting anything forward is nothing short of amazing.Comment -
