But it also forced them to go 95 yards instead of 75. In retrospect they did it, but all numbers crunched he actually did the right thing. Minny had a good 60% chance to convert, they just didnt.

I dont know who coaches the vikes but they need to be fired, not going for 2 to possibly go up 6, like what is being up 5 mean? and for not kicking a fg to go up 8, why go for it on 4th and inches, anyway glad they did lol no wonder some think this stuff is rigged can u blame them

Those percentage chance of winning are ridiculously off.

Going up 8 gives you defense (which has been playing well) two chances to make the stop. Touchdown drive and 2 point conversion.

I agree with going for it but would have called a different play. Run up middle too obvious.

    Going for it:
60% chance to convert and you win
    Otherwise 95 yards I give Seattle 30% chance (so that's 70x40 =28)
    === 88% chance to win

    Kick it:
Seattle has 45% chance to go the 75 yards
And another 55% chance to make the 2
    Then it's 50%
    .45*.55*.5=12.375%

Holy shit it's about equal either way. Just the 12 out of 100 came up.

You could make a legit argument either way. If Zimmer felt he had better than 55-60% to convert, then go for it is right.

Not only was it a pass but the fumble was recovered with like 1.6 sec left.

UNDER are close to 30-40 this year, last year was 50-50.

But then 4 out of the 5 years before were heavy on the UNDERs.

Scores up big time this year for sure.

It was the right call....especially when you look at how their O-line was dominating all night. Wasn't it inches or was it more like a full yard? A qb sneak is almost unstoppable because the defense doesn't know the snap, but they can react to a handoff

Forcing Seattle to execute a TD drive and 2 point conversion under pressure is why you go up 8. This is why Zimmerman is a lifetime loser. No Superbowl rings as a head coach and very little playoff success.

Zimmerman is shortsighted. All he saw was making it on 4th and short ends the game. He never thought about what if he doesn't make it. Seattle getting the stop gives them momentum (you can't put that in numbers or percentages) and life. Being down 8 puts more doubt in your mind then being down 5. Obviously it was the wrong call because they lost.

his 2 bad decisions were they only way seattle could have won. Ive seen games like this before mostly in college where the only way a team can win is if the opponent makes the most stupidest decisions and sometimes they do

Big time fix for the under, Zimmer doesn't kick the FG because when Wilson comes back and gets a TD the game will be over the total, that's the reason. Who the hell doesn't go up 8 with under a min to go and Seahawks only had 1 timeout. You make the FG and leave it up to the D, that's an obvious call. Zimmer should be fired, that was a trash... You just knew 100% Wilson is getting a TD after they don't kick that FG, it's obvious, just stop.

Wrong. With the FG they only need to go 95 and not 75. You don't play to tie on the road. You go fir the kill shot, just a bad play call. But the decision itself was right.

It wasn't under a minute it was the 2 min warning.

You can make the right call and lose. Prob the wrong play, but with the way they were running the ball and Wilson's magic act. That was a chance to end the game. They still had 2 4th down plays to end the game. Sea also gains atleast 20 yards on a fg. If Wilson can go from ZERO to 27 points in one half then what makes you think Minn could stop the 2?

Play for the tie, going for the killshot is all bullshit NFL talk to cover up how corrupt the game is, it might as well be soccer. The game is played on 2 sides, kicking a FG is not "playing for the tie" it's going up a TD plus a 2 pt conversion, you have your D to win the game for you. There's no guarantee Wilson drives 75 yards in 1 min AND gets the 2pt conversion BUT if you miss that FG and somehow Wilson does drive the field, he only needs a TD to beat you. It's a dumbass call.
