    Even then though.

They didn't have mega contracts like these back in the day. No agent driving the shit up and no mega TV deals and mega advertising dollars to help fund the interest.

    It just wasn't there, then.

    Looks like $450 mil

    $140 mil guaranteed

Add in the 2 years he still has left:

    12 years = $477.6 million

    Mahomes > Trout

That's 39.8 million per in the 12 year contract.

He should pay Andy Reid at least half, for his share of the creation.

Without Andy Reid and the offense he instilled, this never, ever, would have happened. Pete Carroll wold have exploited it though.

Reid a big part of the equation that puts Mahomes and Auto on the front page.

True, I was going back a bit further. BUt still, these contracts are sick these days, just a huge explosion since that first agent driven explosion.

    That's insane!

Be a great football player/field general 10 years from now and you could be a Billionaire for 12-15 seasons of work 6 months per year!

Honestly he's probably worth more. Superbowl MVP, regular season MVP in just 2 years.

We may be witnessing one of the all time greats at the beginning of his career.

If they paid a white QB that much money BLM in Kansas City will be rioting and looting by now.

To work a full 6 months they need to get to the Championship if they don't have a bye and if they do have a bye they need to get to the Superbowl for full 6 months of work,Lol.

Last year he missed 2 weeks so he worked a total 5 1/2 months including postseason but won the SB so he coulda missed 6 weeks and they wouldn't of gave a fukk,Lol.

And Andy Reid would of never won a SB without Mahomes as well.

He is the greatest at extending the play better than Roethlisberger in his prime.

I get that, but that's not what I mean. Not saying he's the greatest coach.

He put together a special offense for Mahomes, it paid off. The NFL will learn though, and it won't be a dynasty, that's for sure.

Possibly, when defenses get at it, it will be up to Reid to adjust and put his man in the position to succeed.

He'll pull some wilson/rodger/favre type magic too, but will that be enough?

Offensive lineman better start asking for more money to protect these half a billion dollar QBs

    Average Salary
The average salary of an offensive lineman, any position, in the NFL is $1,267,402, according to "Sports Illustrated." The number is derived from the base salaries of the more than 300 offensive linemen in the league.

You need to use starting Linemen average then bump it up or down when you figure out Chief's average starting Lineman..

If you are a KC fan, you are in denial if you don`t have at the bare minimum mixed emotions and serious reservations.
Be thrilled you get to watch Mahomes and cheer him on. He is great.
BUT.....the cap is real and hard in the NFL. A QB taking that big a piece of the pie will lead to some dissention as well as a lot less money for the remaining 52 players.

He is also going to get PAID in endorsements, so no matter what there will certainly be some envy in the locker room.

Now, all I really care about is if there is going to be a 2020 season. Not a lock.
