I reckon it's the use of external electronic surveillance that makes this so egregious.
The MLB had a rule that prohibits all sign-stealing with the lone exception of a runner on second base.
Expect Cora's punishment to be stiffer than his Astros co-conspirators, but not lifetime ban.
Of course, he must be fired from the Red Sox as they will need a new GM.

This is very sad because Cora was always liked and proud of his team's accomplishments.
Think of the picture for every win he plastered on the wall of his office, in the record-breaking season..

it's all stained now. Like the Patriots are stained by Belicheat.

Boston needs to move on from both of these frauds.

I would offer Joe Girardi the job in a hearbeat.

Game 3 was the big cheat. Swing game and Darvish had been on fire. Had a 1.59 era in his 2 playoff starts.

Astros waited him out with the video relay to the bang bang trash can. Knew everything he was throwing cutter, change up, curve. Tee'd off and then KO'd Darvish before the 2nd inning was ever completed.

Game 3 in Houston Darvish went 1.2 IP, 6 H, 4 ER. Game was basically lost in that second inning.

Like this quote about the 2017 World Series:

"The Dodgers didn’t win it on the field, but history should forever note that nobody beat them."

Yeah I was a fan of darvish, I admit after those games I thought he was a choker loser who couldn't handle the pressure and was tipping, may still be one but this has made me think a little different, I know giant loss shitloads on dodgers couple years straight

And how about what happened to Brandon Morrow? Guy was lights out, lock down that postseason. Morrow gave up just 2 runs in 12.1 IP that October.

Then game 5 in Houston, Morrow just forgets how to miss bats and got no Astro hitter out. Went 0 IP, 4 hits and 4 ER. Hr, single, double, homer.

I need to be accurate, Morrow was lock down and lights for all of 2017 with the Dodgers. Was not just in October.

    Morrow had a 0.91 WHIP in 2017

If the Dodgers are planning a 2017 World Series parade, I would love to join! So if that is in the works, can someone make a Yu Garbage Jersey for me?

This just makes the Nationals WS win even more impressive.

Looking forward to 2020 with even a better season, if that’s possible.

Sad day for baseball, however if it gets cleaned up a bit more that is only a plus.

It pissed me off that the Astros did this but I would like to pose a question.

How is a base runner at 2nd base tipping off pitches to the hitter any different that someone in center field with a camera relaying pitches? Isn't it kind of the same thing?

What makes the use of technology so egregious when the base runner is looking at the same thing?

Because in that case, you're using nothing but your brain; same thing when someone in the dugout watches the base coach's signs, sees a pattern and figures out the signs. When you start using video, it's gets way too easy; if that were legal, every team would do it and scoring would be through the roof.

because the camera can relay pitches when nobody is on base or only on 1st which is not right because most teams will only put one sign down

If Hinch can get a job, MLB doesn't give two shits about cheating. Cora getting a job would just confirm what we already know.
