Did you bet on Andrew Luck futures? What did your sportsbook do?

Bodog/Bovada are informing that Andrew Luck futures such as to win MVP are “season wagers and must wait till the end of the series to be settled.”
This sounds stupid to me; it should be no action. What are other sports books doing? Void or holding my money until end of season?

Just curious. Bodog seems silly for making me hold a ticket entire season, sounds like a negative freeroll for me.

Trash book. Go deposit somewhere else and don’t play their again. That’s the only way to beat them

If they had the market marked as ALL-IN they have no choice. But it would be a loser anyway, not a void in that case.

Should have been refunded the day after his retirement.

I hope not. Is this true? Bodog Customer Reps don't know shit. And they won't escalate to have a Sportsbook Manager contact me at all.

Usually many books state: "Player must play in week 1 for action"

    Example at 5dimes:

Baker Mayfield must play in week 1 for action
    Sun 12/29 30091 B.Mayfield season passing yards ov 4254½ -120
    1:00PM 30092 B.Mayfield season passing yards un 4254½ -110

The wagers should be cancelled immediately no other way to put it

I keep getting bounced away from the Bodog.eu site trying to search their rules.

All I can get is the policy for Cricket

"A wager is deemed a Future wager if the match is offered prior to the week of the tournament/event starting. All bets on Future matches have action whether competitors compete or not. A bet will be deemed an Outright bet if the match is offered from the week of the tournament/event starting. If a competitor does not start, outright bets on this competitor are void."

Can you go here and search for NFL Futures and check of the rule is the same please? https://www.bodog.eu/help

To win mvp both player and book should have equal chance to win the bet. Player retires before first game. Player has no chance of winning. Not a bet any legit company should partake in. It'll be settled fairly.

Hey @TheGeneral - I recognize your name and avatar. You used to be in the old RXForum. Anyways, looks like Bodog is going to hold on to this bet until end of season and make me sweat this out. It sucks. I hope SBR Forum can assist. I would think it's only fair to void the bet. The books voided Colts under wins easily (although I didn't bet this), but want to hold on to my losing Luck futures bet slip.

Almost every legitimate bookmaker offers ALL-IN future markets where non-starters are not voids.

As an old timer I am shocked you don't know this.

We just need to confirm for Ivan if it was an all-in market or not.

I think it's safe to assume it was. But it's fair to get a full explanation for Ivan better than what he says CS told him.

I guess I'm going to lose out on $660 in wagers. Lesson learned: Never betting player prop futures anymore, never again on BODOG because they will negative freeroll me.

I hope SBR Manager can help me. Maybe Bodog gives me a credit of something...

@Optional - the link they provided does not show anything conclusive.

This is the hyperlink in the email: https://www.bodog.eu/help/sports-faq/futures

I also have screen shot of my tickets which doesn't say "action" on them at all. There is NO MESSAGE ON THEM.

I would upload the screen shots but I cannot add attachment. I did email help@sportsbookreview.com because I filed a complaint/help.

    Beware of bodog shaddy bookmaking!

I bet Andrew Luck futures and Bodog will consider these futures as action and I am being negative freerolled.

I just posted in this sub-section to warn players of Bodog's shaddy practices. Do NOT bet futures with them, you will get negative-freerolled.

I have been a Bodog sports bettor and poker player for over 10 years+. I am disappointed and upset. Hopefully SBR can help me.

    Original thread here: https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...l#post28852054

I have removed my ticket number from below, but these are my bets.

    ------------

    Here are your wager details:

    ####### - Risked CAD 330.00 To Win CAD 3960.00
    Andrew Luck (+1200)
    • (Match) Winner
    • Football - NFL Season Props Sep 09, 2019 11:02 PM EDT
    • Odds to win 2019-2020 NFL AP MVP

    ###### -Risked CAD 330.00 To Win CAD 2640.00

    • Andrew Luck (+800)
      • (Match) Winner
      • Football - NFL Season Props Sep 09, 2019 11:02 PM EDT
      • 2019-2020 Most Regular Season Passing Yards

I was on phone for 75 mins

I spoke to Bodog CS agent, another agent, a CS supervisor and no luck. This is supposedly “action” and I have to wait end of season. I asked for their rules but they couldn’t provide. I read their website help section and it doesn’t say about NFL player props.

I couldn’t talk or speak to sportsbook manager. I requested email, no luck.

I guess I am getting negative freerolled here.

Ridiculous! The bet should cancelled and the bettors offshore account should be credited the amount bet.

    No doubt about it.

With some books they won't grade a future until the end of the season because they enter the winning team and all others instantly become losers.

But in this case they clearly don't understand that the player isn't even participating this year.

The funny thing is when you go to Bodog odds page. They have odds on NFL MVP and NFL QB with most passing yards but with a Andrew Luck’s name not on it.

This sucks. Just get negative freeroll here.

I complaint to Bodog but seems like they don’t care. It’s business as usual and keep saying it’s in their rules but there is no indication of this on the NFL odds page, on my bet slip, nor the Help/Rules page either.

Can SBR help! It appears Bodog is sponsor here.

You don't have to play week one to go over or under any of the other wagers either, but some or many books still say the player has to play week 1 to be considered action, as the example above

Luck was a popular bet to win NFL MVP at sportsbooks, with 12-1 odds. Only favorite Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs had better odds than Luck at some shops. The SuperBook and PointsBet elected to refund bets on Luck to win the NFL MVP.

Judging the popularity of a bet by the odds placed. Love it.

It's amazing how much the public will eat up when those with knowledge industry know what BS it is. It's like that across so many industries it's ridiculous. Amazing how outright wrong so much is out there.

Not going to judge you Rudy for choosing that quote out of the whole article, because undoubtedly Luck was a popular bet and I don't treat people that way, but it does serve to profile you as a bettor.

Love statements like that, it let's those of us that know that we are still ahead of the game for so many as far as knowledge goes.

Notice how it says "The SuperBook and PointsBet elected to refund bets on Luck to win the NFL MVP."

ie: they did not have to refund bets under their rules.

Has no one in this thread really never heard of an all-in futures market??

Shocking to see some of the old timer names posting in here who don't seem to know
