    Buying points or half points

They offer this on betnow for football. Up to 1.5 points. https://www.betnow.eu/sportsbook-info/buying-points

The problem is that they normally charge 10 cents for each half point. And if you’re buying around 3 or 7, they charge 25 cents for each half point.

The good news is that the 25 cents only seems to apply to spreads of 3 and 7, and doesn’t seem to apply to spreads like 10, 14, 17 or 21. Those spreads (except maybe the 10) rarely appear in the NFL, but they do appear in CFB.

The question is which is better? Getting +13.5 at -110, or +14.5 at -130? (10 cents to buy from 13.5 to 14 and another 10 cents to buy from 14 to 14.5).

Also is buying from +13 to +14.5 and getting -140 odds remotely worth it? The bad thing about that purchase is you have to buy an almost useless half point when you buy from 13 to 13.5.

Note that spreads like 4 and 11 aren’t key numbers. Because games land on those spreads a lot less often than one would assume.

I always feel if I’m buying points I shouldn’t be playing the game....only thing I’ll ever do is slide the hook in totals up so I get less juice due to being more high volume player

Hmm. I notice a slight problem with the calculator.

The calculator calculates the odds of a team losing by 21 by looking at all games. Including games where the spread was in the single digits, or games where the spread was over 30 points.

Really what you'd want to measure is the odds of a 20.5 point underdog losing by 21. Since the sample size of 20.5 point underdogs would be rather small, you should measure the odds by looking at games where the spread was maybe 18-23.

there are lots of problems with the calculator but the biggest problem is buying points comes at a premium in MOST circumstances. usually books dont make or lose more with you buying points but they get people's confidence up and get more bets with it and those bets include margin!

Buy as many points as offered. It makes you feel confidence.

    Good luck

    Of course not.

That's why we march our asses into the book and grab the edge right out of their hands.
