    2 MN colleges drop football

    St Cloud State, which is a legit school and in fact has or had the #1 NCAA hockey program perennially has dropped FB

    UM Crookston, a U of M affiliation much like powerhouse Duluth, also dropped it

    I'd venture it has less to do with participation and more to do with money. Largest roster of the major sports and the lower divisions aren't reaping the same financial windfall (tv) received by the big boys. Losing proposition = bye bye.

    You'd think w all those stupid lower division teams on TV that there would be more interest.

    Still gotta be more revenue than ladies lacrosse or rowing

    For sure more but expenses a shit ton higher. Travel, food, lodging, etc.

    UM Crookston blew ass, no reason to keep the program there, like you said both schools are about hockey.
