[QUOTE=packerd_00;28086322]I couldnt give a rats ass what a guy gets,im not paying him.But get sick of hearing about people bitching about pennies in Sports, like Thomas whining because he is getting paid alittle less then some other clown.

I saw it with Kirk Cousins aswell, not just blaming the black players.[/QUOT

do you know any pro athletes? I know a few. Most those guys can't walk after they retire if they have played sometime. Funny i played golg every monday before I got sick with a guy that was an o-lineman that played double digit years in nfl. He never got on the field so he was always at league minimum. He said his ex that got half his pension was tougher than practice.

Analysis: Bell reportedly plans to return to the team during the Week 7 bye, but the coach is not looking that far ahead. "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Tomlin said. "Nothing has changed from my perspective in that regard." It is exactly what an NFL coach is expected to say, but it is notable after ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Steelers are still listening to trade offers despite Bell's plan to return. Bell is going to play this year, but it remains possible it is not with the Steelers.

Don't kid yourself. Any school that has major sports is looking the other way when signing players. I laugh when the NCAA puts a random school on violations because every one else is doing the same thing. If many of these players where held to the same academic standards as regular students most would fail out in one semester. Most schools wouldn't even be able to field a team. There is absolutely zero chance many of these players could score high enough on an ACT or SAT to be able to attend these schools. All you have to do is listen to any post game interview of any college or pro game. Then you immediately understand why many of the dumbass decisions are made on a yearly basis around all these leagues.

His concern was that the Steelers were going to intentionally overuse him, giving him like 400 touches, probably true given Pitt knows he is gone at year's end. Similar to what Dallas did with Murray few years ago. Bell did not want that wear and tear on his body heading into free agency. Now, getting a bunch of touches over 9-10 games is not as bad.

Steelers front office has to make sure they get whatever they can for him
even though it won't be much just to make sure he never dons the black & gold again.
Then he can tell the next team to lick his nuts before he shows up to practice.
Sure there are a few teams without any pride who will take him just for attention sake.

And again refer to Murray, retired like 4 years after Dallas gave him record number of touches that one year.

Rams To Sign K Cairo Santos

October 2nd, 2018 at 2:33pm CST by Zach Links

The Rams will sign kicker Cairo Santos, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL.com (on Twitter). Santos will just be holding down the fort until Greg Zierlein returns from injury, but it’s an opportunity for Santos to kick again after a lengthy layoff.
Santos is dealing with a groin problem, which has been a recurring issue for him throughout his career. The Jets were high on Santos when they signed him in March, but they bailed on him in August when the situation did not improve.
In 2017, Santos missed most of training camp with the Chiefs due to his chronic groin injury and he later aggravated the injury in Week 3. He signed with the Bears after his release, but the same problem landed him on IR.
The Brazilian specialist finished last season with the Bears, kicking in three games. The 26-year-old (27 in November) made 31 of his 35 field goal tries during his last full slate with the Chiefs in 2016.

Rams To Release K Sam Ficken

October 2nd, 2018 at 2:28pm CST by Zach Links

The Rams are releasing kicker Sam Ficken and intend to sign another veteran to kick until Greg Zuerlein is recovered from his groin injury, a source tells Adam Schefter of ESPN.com (on Twitter). The kicker auditions will include veterans Cairo Santos and Kai Forbath, Mike Garafolo of NFL.com tweets.
Ficken, 25, took over for an injured Zuerlein at the tail end of the 2017 regular season and called upon to do the same thing this year. Unfortunately, he’s struggled in his two games, making just one of three field goal tries. The Rams are 4-0, but missed field goals could obviously cost them down the line.
Santos has historically been a solid kicker, but he’s dealt with a nagging groin injury for more than a year. Forbath, meanwhile, was released by the Vikings in August losing out to rookie Daniel Carlson. In 2017, Forbath converted 32-of-38 field goal attempts (including six-of-nine from 50+ yards), and his 84.2 accuracy percentage ranked 16th in the NFL.

Lions Work Out Charles Sims, Terrance West

October 2nd, 2018 at 1:58pm CST by Zach Links

The Lions are looking into help at running back. On Tuesday, the Lions auditioned Charles Sims, Terrance West, and Michigan product Fitzgerald Toussaint, as Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press tweets.
The Lions already have solid depth in the backfield with rookie star Kerryon Johnson, power rusher LeGarrette Blount, pass-catching specialist Theo Riddick, and former second-round pick Ameer Abdullah under contract. It’s possible that one of those reserve RBs are injured, but it’s also possible that the Lions are simply updating their emergency lists in the event of an injury.
A former Buccaneers passing-down back, Sims has auditioned for the Texans, Patriots, and Jaguars over the last few weeks. He’s shown flashes of ability during his run in the NFL, especially during a 2015 campaign in which he caught 51 passes for the Buccaneers.
West was initially signed by the Saints back in June after Mark Ingram was hit with a four-game suspension, but he was cut loose in August. The 27-year-old appeared in only five games (four starts) with the Ravens last year, but he had a great 2016 with Baltimore as he racked up 1,010 yards on offense and six touchdowns.

Texans’ Aaron Colvin Could Be Done For Year

October 2nd, 2018 at 1:24pm CST by Zach Links

Texans cornerback Aaron Colvin could be done for the year after suffering a serious ankle injury, coach Bill O’Brien told reporters (link via Aaron Wilson of The Houston Chronicle). O’Brien is hopeful that Colvin could return later on this season, but nothing is definitive at this time.
For however long Colvin is out, the Texans can turn to Shareece Wright to start opposite of Johnathan Joseph. The athletic Kayvon Webster is also an option, provided that he is ready to return from his Achilles injury.
I think Shareece did some good things,” O’Brien said of Wright when asked about his performance against the Colts. “Obviously, like everybody else, there’s some plays that he needs to improve on, but it’s good to have a veteran presence there. He’s a little bit banged up right now and a tough guy.”
If the Texans place Colvin on IR, they’ll have the opportunity to fill his roster spot with another cornerback. Per league rules, players can return from IR after eight weeks, so that may be their best course of action here. In that scenario, Colvin would be eligible to return for the Texans’ Week 13 game against the Browns on Dec. 2.

Dolphins Work Out C Wesley Johnson

October 2nd, 2018 at 12:04pm CST by Zach Links

The Dolphins worked out former Jets and Lions center Wesley Johnson on Tuesday morning, a source tells Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (on Twitter). Johnson was one of seven offensive linemen to audition, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald (on Twitter), and three free agent defensive tackles also took the practice field.
With center Daniel Kilgore out for an extended period, it only makes sense for the Dolphins to explore available centers. Johnson, 27, has appeared in 31 games (23 starts) with the Jets over the past two seasons. The 2014 fifth-round pick out of Vanderbilt joined the Lions earlier this offseason, but he was released by the team at the end of the preseason. Since then, Johnson has worked out with the Vikings and Ravens.
For what it’s worth, the advanced metrics were not high on the Johnson last year. Last year, Johnson graded out as the second-worst qualified center in the league, per Pro Football Focus.

    Bills Sign CB Dontae Johnson

October 2nd, 2018 at 11:32am CST by Zach Links

The Bills have signed cornerback Dontae Johnson, according to a press release. To make room, they’ve released defensive end Nate Orchard.
After spending the first four seasons of his career with the 49ers, Johnson joined the Seahawks and was projected to start. An offseason injury derailed those plans, however, and he was freed from his contract in late September. Johnson probably won’t get an opportunity to match his 2017 career-highs in tackles (77) and passes defended (seven), but he should see some playing time in Buffalo as the Bills deal with injuries in the secondary.
Orchard, a darling of this year’s “Hard Knocks” while with the Browns, possesses great speed but has yet to put it all together at the pro level. After roughly three weeks in Buffalo, Orchard will look to hook on elsewhere and realize his potential.

    Latest On Le’Veon Bell

October 2nd, 2018 at 11:23am CST by Zach Links

Le’Veon Bell will return to the Steelers…but not right away. The Steelers’ star rusher plans to report to the team during it’s Week 7 bye, putting him in position to make his debut in Week 8 against the Browns.
Of course, nothing can be that cut and dry when it comes to the messy situation between Bell and the Steelers. The Steelers are expected to still field trade offers for the running back between now and the Oct. 31 deadline, so it’s not a given that he’ll be back in black and yellow.
Here’s what Bell has to say about his absence and planned return:

    • Bell’s exact reporting day is still unclear, but he plans to be ready for Oct. 28 against the Browns and will decide how many practices he needs based on that, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com tweets. Bell added that he’s in great shape and could play “tomorrow,” if needed. Be that as it may, the Steelers probably aren’t too enthusiastic about Bell dictating his own practice schedule.
    • The running back says that sitting out the entire season was never an option (via Fowler). “It sucks having to sit out football,” Bell said. “I want to play. I want to win games and the playoffs. But I’ve gotta take this stand. Knowing my worth and knowing I can tear a ligament or get surgery at any time, I knew I couldn’t play 16 games with 400 or more touches.”
    • Looking ahead to March, Bell speculated that the Jets, 49ers, Colts, Browns and Eagles would be among the teams interested in his services, though he says he’d want to join a club that values his skill set and winning. “I know the guaranteed money will be there [in March],” Bell said. “If a team wanted to, they could definitely do what they needed to do to make me happy and satisfied.

So u don't know the rules but he's dumb. I never said he should get what he's asking for but there is nothing wrong with him asking if they choose not to pay him then either someone else will or he has to come up with another strategy. My point is its ok to ask its his life he can do what he wants if it bites him in the butt then he has to deal with it. Not much loyalty between owners and players so why should a player not try to get what they feel like they deserve, besides he's one of a few who has a case, no worse than top 2 rb in the league and catches more balls than some teams #1 wr.

So you are equating Connor to one of the three best RBs in the NFL.

And you conveniently left out how great Bell was the rest of last season once he shook off the rust.

Now that's fukkin funny right there,I don't care who you are.........
Look at bell's usuage compared to Connor's over those 4 games though and that's part of his gripe. You want to run me into the ground playing a gladiator sport then I deserve more. 87 vs. 63 carries

The greatest thing about the NFL when compared to ALL other professional American sports leagues and association, is you can't BUY a championship.....

If I were Bell, I would not want to go back to that team, especially since there is going to be(and already is) tension between him and the other players. Those offensive linemen might not give him the extra protection that he was so used to getting while he tap-danced around in the backfield trying to make a decision.

There is absolutely zero chance many of these players could score high enough on an ACT or SAT to be able to attend these schools. All you have to do is listen to any post game interview of any college or pro game. Then you immediately understand why many of the dumbass decisions are made on a yearly basis around all these leagues.
Spot on. Most of these idiots have to look at their Social Security cards to spell their name.

The 5 year rule is tough to argue in a contract.........

Especially when your boss is a TEAM oriented franchise like the Steelers and Pats...

How many stars on these 2 teams say look at me, fukk the team pay me.....?

AB the only one and his ass is no longer welcome in the burgh after his contract is up
as he's a selfish bitch "witch" is a definite no no in Pittsburgh...
If he doesn't produce which he clearly is not , compared to years past,
he'll be overlooked as he is now..........
He lost all of Ben's confidence as his route running is not on Ben's page, not even in the same book..
JUJU is definitely on Ben's page as he proves it every week...........

Ben and Brady never bitched about being paid the biggest money especially Brady
as he quite frankly is the best QB ever and it's not even close..........

Let these self proclaimed superstars go to the shit teams in the NFL who think a few superstars
is a ticket to the big dance even though it has NEVER worked before and never will....

Talk about the definition of insanity................

I used to agree with all of that pauly when I was younger but in the world we live in, especially since they're playing a sport for a short period of time, its about getting what you can get. It's just a game and matters nothing in the grand scheme of things, but money does matter and you need it to survive so for the short period of playing sports you should try to get all you can. That whole team stuff and loyalty had more bearing to me when I was a kid but this is a business that stuff weighs with me now no more than 80/20. At least 80% of looking out for yourself(prob should be 100% since nobody is gonna look out for you more than you) and 20% team "loyalty". If anyone on the steelers felt they were being low-balled or underpaid and if they felt like they had some leverage they would be asking for more money too just based off of principle if not they're stupid. So if Bell is thinking he has 5 decent years left and he knows they're gonna try to give him 400+ overall touches why not get what you can. Go back in Brady's history he's been upset with his contracts before no need to be upset now he has a wife who makes more than he does. I'd bet there prob was a time Ben has been upset too no need now he's getting 87 mil over 4 years with a 31 mil signing bonus don't think you'd hear a peep out of bell either if he were making that.

Exactly,, when your team leads the league in penalties (over 100yds pr game) it's time to hang it up as a coach in the NFL..........

Chronic penalties is the most clear cut sign of a coach who has lost his players
    respect especially chronic personal fouls...........

If you watch Tomlin on the sideline, he is about as emotional as a dead fukkin tree...............
