Some reputable people came out and confirmed that they did pass away, but will we ever find out what really happened?

As for the explosion rumors, the media wouldn't just ignore it.

SBR has been the 1st gambling forum I joined so I don't know much about Eog or the Shrink, but seems like he was a great guy. Very sad news.

Classy move, Billy. Thanks to you too, John.

Kenny & his wife will be missed. I could always go to him for anything. Part of me is still in denial and I'm hoping I can wake up any moment to find out that it's not true.

Without a doubt a pioneer who laid the framework for what you and I as well as many @ SBR enjoy doing everyday.

Kenny was talking sports and gambling online when AOL 32kb dial up was high tech. He gave out a lot of winner back then too. Then came the Rx.

                                      *******************************/2010/04/11/eog-founder-wife-reported-dead/

EOG founder Ken Weitzner and his wife Scarlett have been reported to have died yesterday in a tragic accident. Ken was also the creator of the popular forum TheRx and was a pioneer in the offshore gambling community.

Ken’s last post on The EOG read:

My wife and I will be going away for a trip. While we are gone, I have asked mofome to be in charge of the day to day operations of EOG….

I know it’s the start of the slow season for many, including Yours Truly…

I won’t be posting while we are gone…

It seems like EOG keeps getting better each day with so many new posters adding to the wealth of information that we already have from our old-timers..

It’s nice to know I can leave with people like Blondie, Ballwonder, Jimmy Hoffa, and diogee, amongst others to help out…

I feel like this place has always been a second home for me because of ALL OF YOU…

Thanks from the bottom of my heart….

I am grateful to be a part of this Family and for all the support,

                                      P.S.

                                      1 down and 2 to go baby…

Now let’s win the remaining 2 Baseball games I gave out on WW, so I can start out with a nice winning record in Baseball!!

                                      Ken

SBRB would like to extend our condolences to the Weitzner family.

RIP. This is simply tragic. I will not begin to speculate but houses do not just randomly blow up. Will wait and see out of respect for the family.

                                              EDIT:

More reason to believe we really know nothing at this point.

Speculation was running rampant late Saturday that the founder of theRx.com and later, www.eog.com, had been killed (mysteriously).

ASHEVILLE — An explosion that rocked an East Asheville neighborhood destroyed a vacant house and sent debris into neighboring homes.

Marjorie Styles was peeling apples in her Pleasant Ridge Drive home Saturday afternoon when she heard the explosion. The blast knocked the knife out of her hand.

“It was horrendous. My windows shook and the floor was shaking,” said Styles, who lives directly across the street from the house destroyed by the explosion. “Flames were shooting out and there was black smoke. I immediately grabbed the phone and called 911.”

Firefighters responded about 3:35 p.m. to the explosion at 13 Pleasant Ridge Drive. The cause of the blast remains under investigation. No one was at the house at the time and there were no firefighters injured.

“The house is supposed to be vacant right now,” Asheville-Buncombe Arson Task Force director Buddy Thompson said at the scene. “The gentleman that has the house now, his mother died about a month ago, so they were cleaning the house out.”

It’s not known exactly the last time someone was in the house, Asheville Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Dan Flinn said.

“Last time (neighbors) said they saw somebody was maybe two weeks ago,” Flinn said.

It appeared the house bad both propane and natural gas sources. Flinn said it wasn’t known if those lines were turned off before the blast, but crews made sure the lines were turned off after the explosion.

The roofs of nearby homes were littered with debris, and the adjacent house had its siding pierced with debris thrown by the blast. Shattered glass covered the street.

Styles has lived on Pleasant Ridge Drive for about 50 years. She said Hazel Norman lived in the house that exploded for about the same amount of time until she died last month.

“It was a beautiful place and I’m glad Ms. Norman didn’t have to see it like this because she loved it,” Styles said.

Susan Bates was working in her yard about a half mile away when the blast happened.

“It was really loud,” Bates said. “It was a huge explosion and then the ground shook.”
