#180As you can imagine this is a terrible time for our family. I have lost my beautiful mother and my close friend and stepfather Ken.
I just want to come on EOG to confirm the lose. Ken and my mother have passed away. They took their own lives sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday mornig with sleeping pills carbon monoxide...
I want to let all of you know that he loved EOG and the posters...it was his passion. He mention this in a note he left for me and wanted to say he was sorry for leaving you all...mostly Mo, Blondie, Ball, and Jimmy who worked so hard to keep EOG rolling. I am at his desk...crying my eyes out as I type..
They left no reason for what they did thou I have my own ideas....I am just very sad and my heart is broken...I lost my best friend of the last 40+ years and the greatest mom a fellas could have....my heart is truely broken. If there is a heaven I know my mom is there planting flowers and waiting on her family to arrive one day....Kens family...by brother, our wives and their heartbroken grandchildren will celebrate their lives on Tuesday.
I know that there has been a lot of rumors flying around and I must admit I was worried this past week that something horrible had happened and my gut was right. I just wanted to come on and share with the folks at EOG what is the only truth in this terrible day....THE SHRINK and my mother are dead..
Thanks for all the good times EOGers...!!
And those who love to to be cruel and run them down...find a new big bad wolf..Comment -

#181Anyone discussing with Shrink any dealings considered illegal by the US Govt. should always pat him down first!
This Corso character shares "character flaws" with Weitzner....
Kenny may well have been recruited by the FBI around the time of the phony prescription bust!
------------------------------------------------------
JOHN L. SMITH: Compulsive gambler may have lost his bet as FBI informant
From The Las Vegas Review Journal
Discuss this column in the eForums!
Las Vegas has always been an attractive place for the hail-fellow, the hustler, and the man on the make.
With its shadowy history, seductive setting and proximity to a limitless river of cash, it brims with dreamers, scufflers and schemers. It's a spot where a guy who knows a guy can make a good living.
It was perhaps the ideal spot for the FBI to turn a man like Stephen Corso loose with a recording device. By all accounts, Corso was the street-wise guy Las Vegas tourists fantasize about and most locals rarely experience, the one who exists in dimly lighted bars and nondescript strip mall offices.
Corso was an accountant by training, a salesman by calling, and a high-rolling degenerate gambler by compulsion when he got caught swiping clients' money to feed his blackjack Jones and penthouse lifestyle. He spent $5 million that didn't belong to him and was on his way to a prison stretch when he began cooperating with the FBI in 2002.
From what I've pieced together from public documents and street sources, the smooth-talking accountant found his true calling as an undercover informant. Reliable sources say Corso worked his way into the local mob scene and pulled the pants off some very experienced wiseguys.
According to a federal document from the Eastern District of Virginia, where Corso's efforts helped nail securities attorney David Stocker on a "pump and dump" stock manipulation scheme with connections reaching into the Securities and Exchange Commission, the accountant was a one-man La Cosa Nostra census worker.
"He provided information related to the activities of individuals with ties to several LCN organized crime families to include: the Chicago Outfit, Lucchese LCN, Bonanno LCN, Genovese LCN, Colombo LCN, Philadelphia LCN, Decavalcante LCN, and Gambino LCN," the document states. "Corso was also instrumental in providing FBI agents with information on individuals with ties to Russian organized crime, Youngstown, Ohio gangsters, and the Irish Mob which exists in the Boston, Mass. area."
Sounds like the guy did everything but dig up Jimmy Hoffa. Corso back-slapped his way into the Las Vegas underworld, then used his accounting and tax preparation skills to give the wiseguys a financial endoscopic treatment.
He played an integral role in sealing the deal in the lengthy "Mafia Cops" case, in which Las Vegas residents and former NYPD detectives Louis Eppolito and Stephen Caracappa were found guilty of acting as contract killers for the Lucchese crime family. Corso's work in Las Vegas proved beyond reasonable doubt that the Mafia Cops continued their criminal conspiracy years after leaving New York.
"Corso's testimony was critical to the ... conclusion that the conspiracy continued into the limitations period," one government document states.
It's as simple as this: No Corso, no Mafia Cops conviction.
And it will be intriguing to see whether the government gets a victory in a related drug case involving Eppolito's son, Anthony Eppolito, and Guido Bravatti now that Corso has been sentenced to a year and a day for his own transgressions.
It's also been reported Corso worked in connection with the Crazy Horse Too investigation. I imagine former Crazy Horse official Bobby D'Apice, who now resides at government expense, won't be sending his former tax consultant, Corso, a letter of reference.
At his February sentencing in Connecticut, U.S. District Judge Janet Hall seemed almost apologetic. Although she called Corso's crime "an extraordinary violation of trust," she admitted, "I can't find the words to describe the value, at least in my judgment, of this cooperation."
The feds have a long tradition of going to embarrassing lengths to help their most effective informants. Not this time. Corso, the accountant, will serve longer than some informants with murder convictions.
Who could blame him if he told the government to get stuffed?
The FBI and U.S. attorney's office in Connecticut credit Corso with generating at least seven arrests, 20 convictions, and $4.2 million in seizures and forfeitures.
And it isn't over.
"The LCN is well known for its tradition of seeking retribution against those who cooperate with law enforcement," a federal memo states. "Corso knew of the danger, but continually put himself in harm's way for the benefit of the government."
So much for loyalty.
Now all Stephen Corso has to do is watch his back the rest of his life.Comment -

My sincere sympathy to the family and friends left behind.

#184Let me give you a perspective from a person involved in Law Enforcement. First, the much talked about letter stating that he was going on vacation certainly has enough words in it to be considered a suicide note. That does NOT mean that is was. What that means is that it can not be dismissed. Talking about how much fun he had is a sure indicator that he may not be coming back from his "vacation".
Next, the fact that there are so many rumors out there about how they died, IF they died, leads one to speculate that something is not right here. The actual day of their demise seems to be in question. The way they died is certainly in question. There are way too many conflicting reports out there.
Then there is the allleged mob connection. That can go many different ways, from a hit to them turning states evidence. I tend not to buy the states evidence theory, because if that is the case, I would expect someone would either threaten, or take some actions against his kids. It is not like the whole family disappeared. It would come as no shock if he were involved in something, got in too deep, and decided to end it all. Why his wife would go with him is total speculation. No one really knows what type of realtionship they had. His survivors may be told what story is to be release to the public.
Then their is the way that EOB has handled the whole situation. They have misleading statements all over the place. The fact that they used the words "passed away" indicates that they are hiding something. If they did not know the cause of death, they would have stated that. They could have said died due to causes unknown at this time. The choice of words is very questionable here. Passed away is a term used for the elderly, who pass from natural causes. The one thing that is clear is that IF he is dead, natural causes were not the reason for his passing.
Then there is the fact that he made a lot of enemies of late. This can not be overlooked. In this day and age, who knows what someone may have did to them, if anything.
Then there is the lack of any type of news about an investigation. Any death that is now witnessed by a doctor requires an investigation and an autopsy. This could be the reason for the delay in funeral arrangements, if he and his wife have actually passed. An investigation of a person as newsworthy as he is would certainly be published someplace.
Nothing can be assumed. It is unknown if he is dead or not. There is way too much conflicting information for anyone to make any type of educated guess or judgement. If he is, infact, dead, then the Feds, or some agency, is keeping this story under wraps. There could be numerous reasons for this. Do not make any conclusion. Let's see what develops over the next 24 hours or so.Comment -

Sleeping pills AND Carbon Monoxide? Talk about "overkill". How did they get the carbon monoxide inside their residence or where ever they were? Were they in a car? Why both sleeping pills and Carbon Monoxide?
Normally, when people commit suicide, they choose one method. People do not take pills and hang themselves, or take pills and shoot themselves. This sounds like they really wanted to die. So much so that they took extra precautions so their suicide would be a guaranteed success. Am I the only one in here having problems with this? Am I the only person who thinks that this scenario does not quite pass the smell test? Now I may be wrong, but for some reason, I am really having a problem adding 1 and 1 and coming out with 2 here.Comment -

#195No. Not if it were a common sleeping pill. Jackson's death was a combination of ingrediets, and it takes much longer to get those results. Traces of the "Drug" would be found almost immediately. What strikes me as strange is the statement about the Carbon Monoxide.

#207That certainly is possible, but did she take sleeping pills on top of doing that? It is also a very rare type of suicide. Most suicides involving Carbon Monoxide gas occur in a vehicle or in a garage. Again, I have never heard of a suicide when more than one method was used.Comment -
