    Raiders -3

1-0 after hitting with Pittsburgh, I like Oakland at -3 here. Gruden is a first year head coach and I think he will want to win, Raiders QB rotation after Carr is strong with Emanuel and Cook. Detroit's QB rotation isn't as impressive with Rudock and Cassell. I think Patricia approaches preseason the same as Belichick, not focused on winning.

Raiders backups better so understand the pick, other logic a little off.

Bill is above .500 preseason record dating back to 2008. So not sure how he doesn’t care. If anyone seems like a he cares guy it’d be him.

Don’t get the first year coach point as they’re both first year coaches.

Its the first home game for Gruden, that's why the first year coach angle matters more. What does Patricia care if he wins in Oakland, this is a much bigger game for Oakland. Belichick hasn't cared about preseason for a while, the Patriots record reflects that they have very good teams, he doesn't look at the preseason like Carrol and other guys.

There is no first year coach angle to talk about. They win about 50% of their first preseason games the last years.

Also, home field advantage doesn't exist in preseason.

Why not try the angle that Gruden is 8-0 in preseason Week 1 as a HC? 😀Gruden isn't a first year HC.
Since I like mobile backup QBs in the preseason, I will look for EJ Manuel.

I think Gruden is the type of coach in city like Oakland that will want to win his first home game, obviously every situation is different.

I had approx 1.5 point home field adventage in for other games, but thinking Oakland's worth more here. Raidernation might come and say hello to their old friend Chucky

Jon Gruden is a first year head coach? It’s not even his first year coaching the Raiders.

I’ve run the numbers and you are correct on one angle though, NFL coaches want to win, so thanks I’ll be including that into my NFL capping from now on.

I’ve always been a fan of new coaches trying to establish a culture taking preseason more seriously, if memory serves me right he was a pretty strong preseason winner in past as well. This looked like most playable side to me tonight although still don’t like nearly as much as browns or your pick yesterday.

Square takes as always - feel free to let me know if you are fading ahead of the game. Gruden is a first year coach with this team - its his first year of his new contract.

Well not like you win anyways, another losing proposition. His side makes far and away most sense here. Raiders or nothing imo.

My favorite part of this is “obviously every situation is different” like there’s ever been a city or coach who want to lose the first home game.

Yeah that’ll teach him a lesson. Next you should send him hundred dollar bills in the mail to show him who’s boss.

Fuk off. The difference is its his first home game, the Raiders have the kind of fan base that will fill up the stadium for a preseason game.

Raiders steamed to -3.5 at most books so I grabbed a -3.0 -110. You can still get it at lowvig.

Lynch with a nice TD run, but it was called back by a dumb hold by a rookie.

Detroit could have easily covered the 3.5.
A late holding penalty on offense lead to a 45 yard FG for Oakland with 2 minutes left in game.
Detroit has played well in preseason games on the road.
Oakland not so good at home the past few years.
The sucker public squares who bet Oakland minus 3.5 (a lot of points to lay)got lucky.

Didn't Marshawn Lynch get a rush TD taken back because of a holding..?

Ehhhhh not sure about that. Raiders were also inside the 10 yard line in the third quarter going in for a TD and fumbled the football. Raiders for the most part dominated from start to finish

Idiots in here debating who’s the better team? Nonsense - seen teams go 4-0 in the preseason and win 2-3 games in the regular season - teams go 0-4 in the preseason and make the playoff - case closed - morino is 2-0 in the Preseason - take notes rookies
