Tonight's Red Sox - Rays game.

I was just looking at that game for the second time, do you realize both starting pitchers (Odorizzi and Porcello) have given up a combined 49 home runs this season so far.

Jesus God that's a ton of gopher balls.

Odorizzi has given up 23 home runs, and hasn't even pitched in two weeks.
23 bombs in 94 innings is more than 3 per nine inning.
He's given up 2 home runs in four of his last six starts, and at least one in 17 starts, which is unbelievable considering he's made 18 starts.

Porcello has given up 26, but at least he goes deep into games.
Both pitchers have ERA's in the mid 4's, in defense of Porcello he was 'hard luck' in three of the four games he lost during that 4 game losing streak.

What's ironic here is exactly a month ago, Porcello lost 1-0 to the Rays. (Cobb)

Total is 8.5 which (juiced though)
I understand these aren't your Daddy's Red Sox with all those homer hitters, but they do have sticks, good sticks, and Rays can rake as well.

Total seems low because Sox haven't been hitting much all year (just my opinion) to me over looks like the way to go, and I'm just going to go with it, not going to try to figure out why the number is 8.5

Over 8.5 in this (what looks like a slug fest)
Since Sox are on the road, they get a ninth inning at bat no matter what, so 4.5 team total is worth a small play too.

As far as the side goes, I always like home dogs, tempted to go Rays + but I'm sticking to the total here.

If I'm wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

p.s. if you haven't done the Saratoga, Cooperstown, thing this time of year, just do it.
Racing, first class women, top shelf booze, all the action you want, legit or underground.

I agree I played the over as well. My biggest concern is porcello has a stellar career mark at the trop. That said like you mentioned he gives up a lot of bombs and tampons live and die by the hr so think they get a few tonight. Certainly don't think it too much to ask for both these teams to get 4 runs in this one. Gl nasher

Not touching this game but you do have a good case for the over.

I can't remember who ump is but I'm fairly confident he at worst a nuetral type guy cause don't think I would have played if it was a ump w big k-zone.

cant believe it. 3rd base ump jumped into the path of the ball costing the red sox 2nd and 3rd with no out

then they failed to score. its going to be one of those games where each pitcher gives up 8+ hits but it goes under

Crazy that Sox don't score top of first. Ball hits umpire, costs a run right there. Would have manufactured the 2nd run in. Instead it's 0-0

I swear these guys all got together over the All Star break and agreed to bet all the unders and purposely get out when runners are on.

Lol. I think it a little less sinister. everyone just excepts strikeouts now so nobody held accountable for not doing the little things that actually help a team win. Like driving in fukkin runners w less than 2 outs!!

As I speak god damn tampons match the Sox and strand 2 runners of their own. Mf'er!!

The fact that this over hasn't hit yet is sickening. If the 8.5 over gets busted...

It was by far the ugliest game of the year.
If you like ugly, this was for you.
You had, what? Three wild pitches, passed ball, throwing errors like you read about.
You had umpires with their thumbs up their asses, clueless.
Randazzo, Fletcher, and their posse did everything in their power to keep this under, and they couldn't even get that right.
Oh yeah, as advertised you had Porcello gopher balls, I thought he got whiplash watching Millers moonshot. It was like a scene out of Bull Durham.
So ugly once I got my ninth run I had to put on the KC game that was after I went to the toilet to vomit.
