Stock snobs should read into statement for inside into NFL ratings as they no doubt effect revenue and ad rates.

(Reuters) - CBS Corp (N:CBS), owner of the most-watched U.S. TV network, reported a 4.3 percent rise in quarterly revenue, helped by increase in fees from CBS-affiliated stations as well as growth from digital distribution platforms.
CBS, home to popular shows such as "Homeland" and "The Big Bang Theory", said revenue rose to $3.396 billion in the third quarter from $3.26 billion a year earlier.
Net income from continuing operations rose to $514 million, or $1.15 per share, in the three months ended Sept. 30, from $426 million, or 88 cents per share

CBS trading on speculation they can add growth w Viacom. No mention of NFL ad revenue despite multi billion dollar committed

CBS is a cash cow, the network least likely that needs the NFL ratings.
Oh sure ratings will take a bite out of the bottom line, but the CBS empire is spread out all over the place.
CBS radio is gigantic (Cumulus is CBS), CBS studios, CBS are internet players too, don't forget they own CNET too.

    Simon and Schuster is CBS

Look at the Nielsen ratings (not last week when the WS was king) you regularly have 7 out of top 10 shows from CBS
CSI franchise, Big Bang etc. etc. their news division is huge.

I think they still have the Westinghouse brand too.

    Cash cow
