All's quiet on the western front? Too quiet, so when does the hammer come down on this California/Hawaii game? 8 day's til kickoff and this line has stalemated way too long.

Which team will get hit hard first [betting]? I'm guessing it's the favorite, Cal, thinking they will be hit hard in a few days and the line with move toward -24 point favorite. Plus, the total has to go up also, right?
My suggestion on what to bet: Play Cal-20 now and also the over for the same amount. If you lose both, you can tell people it's.... Abe's fault! But, you're not allowed to complain but one time, caus' I'll be right there with you.

When Pinnacle posts a total and moneyline and you will see some more movement. Right now they only have Spread up with a 1K limit so once that increases you will see even more movement.

I thought Phoenix was much like Bovada, quite conservative? That's pretty bold of Phoenix, if true?

Wow, what a boring looking game this is turning out to look like. No movement hardly at all.
I thought Cal would be 21 or more by now. Kicks in 4 days and the line seems frozen.

This line opened as high as 22 and even 22.5 in some places in both Vegas and online according to my sources. It has been massaged down to 20 by low limit bets and even bounced off the low to 20.5.

I know that some of those early bets stopped coming at 20 because those bettors will go no lower. They've massaged the line to a point the books like and the books are taking cues from some of those early bettors.

I don't think it's going lower, but you have to ask yourself, did betting groups drop this line to 20 with low limits in hopes of of slamming the favorite with bigger bets and higher limits? This does happen but I'm not giving my opinion now as to a sharp line (after all, it is week one and the bigger manipulators won't enter the market for a few more weeks.)

Barring any late breaking news, I feel this line will stay where it is (at 20 or 20.5) and will see movement towards 20.5 in those 20 houses just before game time. If it hits 21, it won't be until kickoff. If any houses put up 19.5 in the meantime, I don't believe it will be there for long.

I think it stays at 20 (or the current 20.5 at some houses.) If given the choice between 19.5 or 21, I would say 21, but I don't think it will move until game time, if at all, and I think it will have trouble reaching 21. The pressure will be there, so we will see.

Anyway, it seems you didn't really ask for a number, you asked a yes or no question...but I get where you are going with it.

Obviously, my answer is no the question as I think the line will stay at 20 until an hour or so before game time. At that time, I believe pressure will be upward but to get to 21 will would probably occur right before kickoff. I don't see this line breaking through 21, if it gets there.

A 20.5 line by game time would not be surprising to me.
