Hawks are the play in Game 1

Atlanta has to get over the huge mental hurdle of facing Cleveland and Game 1 is the perfect opportunity. The Cavs swept them last year and won all three meetings this season. The Hawks can compete in this series but they really need to win one of the first two games. If they go down 0-2 it will feel like deja vu all over again.

The Cavs know they can beat these guys. They look really tough right now but I think they might actually be in for a dogfight here.

Take the points for sure here. ML +290 is worth a shot as well but I definitely like Atlanta to cover the 7.5.

Millsap should have a field day.

Key is korver. Last year he was really out of it. He seems to have regained his touch a bit.

Coaching might keep the games close. Buds has no Stevens but now he has to face stars.

I think Teague is the key to the series. Without him outplaying Irving they stand no chance. Millsap is a beast but he's just the type of player Kevin Love can battle. Kind of slow, not too powerful, not too athletic. Similar player to Love. Love is a little better but Millsap will prolly have better series numbers because he gets the ball more.

Love can play 1 on 1 d vs millsap. Struggles in pick n roll coverage though. Millsap can pick and pop. Too slow too weak to wear down love in the paint. Millsap not that kind of player. Will get his in the paint but he's not gonna abuse love or anything. Will be a pretty even matchup. If anything K Love is stronger than millsap....could go to work on him in the post.

What are some areas that atlanta could exploit in this series?

They can't really. They can set high ball screens for Teague and exploit Irving's defense. Irving doesn't seem to fight through screens very well. Atlanta can get Love in some switches and Teague will blow right by him. Cleveland knows how to rotate because James is a floor general on defense but it still puts them in some tough situations.

If Korver gets going they'll have a shot. He'll run around a bunch of screens and usually his shots are contested much better in the playoffs but in a game 1 I think he'll get some good looks.

they can exploit the cavs offense if the hawks play defense.. if they force lebron to take 18ft jumpers, ATL could linger.
