Eagles front office is basically Lurie and his pal Howie Roseman running the operation like a fantasy team, Coughlin wants no part of that mess. They need a football man as GM, not the owners buddy who is a numbers/cap geek. The only guy who is accepting this job is a young guy who is trying to prove he is worthy of being a head coach. I see Pat Shurmur getting the job just so they can keep some consistency on offense, maybe dumping Bill Davis for a 4-3 defense guy.

i agree. When chip wanted GM spot they didn't get rid of Roseman just reassigned him. You know he's in Lurie's ear every minute of the day.

How is the Miami & Cleveland job more attractive then philly? Has to be the front office

Miami has always been an attractive job. Where would you rather coach .... Miami or Philly? My guess is 9 out 10 will choose Miami.

factor in everything. Weather also. Tradition.

The AFC East has been a great division over the years but like every division, they all have their ups and downs. The NFC East hasn't been a powerhouse this decade either.

    Phillyguy tears of joy yes

Phillyguy tears of sorrow seeing Kelly leave and the two easy wins he would provide the skins every year. No matter they will still be an easy 2 on the board.

Phillyguy you stay in your lane you know I'd destroy you in a game of naked twister.

Something must stink in the Philly front office for a classy guy like Coughlin to run away screaming.

Eagles hired Doug Pederson. So outside of Chip Kelly, it seems hiring offensive coordinators as head coaches has become all the rage in recent days with Koetter in Tampa Bay and McAdoo with the Giants being promoted from within, Gase going to Miami and now Pederson in Philly.

And Coughlin may have to resign himself to taking a consulting position with the Giants.

I just don't get the hiring. Take away Chiefs defensive tds & their O rank 22nd

Lurie gave such an emotional speech at Chips firing & just complete bs.

Front office a complete shit show

I imagine Coughlin realized its gonna take a shitload of work in Philly to get that team the way he wants a team to be, and he's too old to go to a situation like that.

Who knows how this will turn out? Pederson may be the second coming of Lombardi. May very well end up being a great hire.

With Koetter and McAdoo, both teams feared they'd get hired away so they had to push Lovie&Tom out the door.

The Peterson hire baffles me. He doesn't even call the plays in KC. Feels like Garrett in Dallas, is Lurie the new Jerry?
