Powerball winner from a nice suburb of LA, that's too bad

Chino Hills. That's a well-off suburb of LA from what I see. Anyone know it? Prob some dude with four cars in his driveway and landscaped grounds.

I was hoping we'd have our winner from East Bumfukk, Wyoming... some hard-working bloke living in a shack.

Or, of course, that it be me.

I'm binge-eating my disappointment away right now.

I guess my 10 chances in 292,201,338 were never super likely to get it done.

Ah well, back to capping NCAA hoops for pennies.

I bet there were multiple winners with those numbers:

    4,8,19,27,34, and power ball 10

5 of those 6 numbers are dates on a calendar and people always play dates.

The 4 and 8 were the first two numbers that Hurley picked when he won the lottery on Lost.

So many people on Twitter angry that somebody from Chino Hills won, saying things like "The rich get richer while the poor spend their last couple dollars on the lottery".

Take the 20 year payout. Pay taxes on the first payout then move to a state where they don't tax the winnings for the remaining payments. Easy.

    not in California

The minimum information they require under public disclosure laws in California are the winner's full name, the name and location of the retailer who sold the winning ticket, the date the prize was won, and the amount of winnings, including gross and net installment payments. If your name is fairly common, this may be less of a problem, and you do have the ability to assign your payments to a trust or entity so that these will become anonymous.

You don't have to participate in any lottery publicity, so anything beyond the above information (like photos, ceremonies or announcements) can be declined when you claim your prize.

So basically only 1 reported winner so far? Could be more... or what???

I do agree... I find it hard to believe only one winner with caldendar numbers. A lot of women play birth dates all the time.

A well off suburb? Because it has hills in the name or what? More like a buttcrack of the inland empire between "let's buy some meth" Montclair and "run white boy" Pomona. Probably a few nicer developments recently but facts are facts.

another fun fact: all the pollution from LA is blown into the San Gabriel valley and collects at the bottom of the mountain range, making near by Chino Hills one of the highest polluted areas in the country

    19 years old became father

    8 years to pass college

    27 When graduated

    34 when got locked up

    10 years till got out

I was thinking the same thing! When I saw the numbers, I said fukk there are going to be several. Five out of the six possible dates, and 34 is pretty close and 3+4=7. Forgot Hurley had two of those, lol.

I haven't seen any other winners yet, but maybe some state lotteries are slow on the uptake and need more time or are napping on the job!

They could create a trust and have a lawyer present the winning ticket, no?

Oh really? Okay, good info, Angles. I was going off of this from Wikipedia:

Chino Hills was ranked 34th in Money magazine's "Best places to live 2012."[7] It is also the 6th highest income place in the United States (with population 65,000 to 250,000)[8] and was ranked as the 13th safest city in the United States in 2008 by the FBI.[9] Chino Hills is a part of the Chino Valley.
Chino Hills’ reputation is known in the national arena as well, as it was featured on the list of 87 of America's hottest towns in the January 2004 issue of Money magazine.[10] Chino Hills was ranked 8th on the list of “best places in the west with a population under 100,000.” The magazine reviewed a decade of data for communities with above average population growth, income, and home prices “to see where people were most willing to devote a high multiple of their annual income to live happily ever after.”
