They may be able to pay for them online but they won't be able to pick them up. All online gun sales I've seen only ship to Federal Firearms License holders who must conduct a background check on the buyer before they can do the transfer of the gun to the buyer. If the "convict" is barred from gun ownership he won't pass the federal check.

That is unfortunately correct, only a handful of states require a background check when buying a gun from an "private seller", the government currently only requires licensed sellers to do a full background check.

I'm not sure what the answer is, but the one similarity in all these mass killings is guns are involved. No idea how to keep guns out of bad people's hands, though.

Guns are the problem, not the answer, but it's a problem that most Americans are willing to live with as long as they get to keep theirs.

Guns give this amazing false sense of security that we love, as if we're invincible. All along the same fat-asses that are so afraid to die that they carry a gun on their person, have one in every vehicle, and 10 around the house, are woofing down chicken fried steaks, fries and washing it down with a large coke, plus refills.

#1 killer of fat ass, gun owning americans is heart disease, but you don't see any of them going on a diet. #5 killer is Stroke, #7 is Diabetes.

#10 killer is suicide, homicides is well below that

I guess ultimately it's a self-correcting problem

I agree, hell I always grew up with guns on a farm so I guess I may be biased to one side but it is alittle crazy how anyone without a felony can walk down and buy a assault rifle. It is hard to stop people like this though as even with stiffer gun laws they will find a way to get dangerous rifles, just look at gangster and drug smugglers, most of the time they have more firepower than the border agents and cops (we all know they didn't walk down the local gun store).
