It's really hard to go against a boxing aficionado with your credentials, Hooper. Creed it is.

How old is Creed's son supposed to be? I am guessing 30ish?

I heard Sly is going to be up for a best supporting actor award.

    yeah, like right at 30.

and i read that as well, and i hope he gets it if that happens. i feel like the academy would never allow that to happen, but who knows. maybe he'll become the trendy pick.

Doctor has given me the OK to drive again. Going to go to the cinema while the kids are in school, and the crowd is not as big.

Ok Tex....went and saw it today with the wife. My girl is still a little young to be too interested in stuff like this yet.

It was really good. Much better than I anticipated. It's clearly a "Rocky" for a younger generation. I thought that Sly did a great job. Really good acting. There were a few moments in it where I found myself feeling a little choked up, and that's always a good sign for a movie with me.

I really liked the fight scenes, and found the whole 24/7 angle pretty damn awesome. Very cool.

A no doubt thumbs up from here.

Opie spending his Sunday afternoon not watching football, but instead crying in dark theaters?

This coming on the heels of him cowering to Mikejamm just yesterday.

Time to revoke this guys man card. What a little sissy.

Cowboys season is over. Who gives a fukk anymore? Me and MikeJamm have been archenemies for so long...we actually kinda feel a certain kinship for one another now. It's all growth, pal.

I mean, look at me now...conversing with militant gays like yourself. Who would've ever thought this was possible???

    Absolutely Diggity.

Putting writing and directing in the hands of a young guy did this movie wonders.

Don't see this movie. The lead actor and dialogue of the movie is sub par. It reminds me of movies that never make it to the theater. Save yourself some money and don't see it on the theater.

I walked out after 1 hour into the movie

Saw the movie today. It seemed hurried for the first 20 minutes, but has a good pace the rest of the way. Thought that Jordan, Stallone, and Thompson had a pretty good chemistry. The part that hit me the hardest was when Adonis reveals his motivation before the last round of the fight, then after all of the new musical scores they played during the movie, they go head first into the Rocky score. Brilliant! I liked the first 3 Rocky's better, but Stallone definitely deserves an award nomination for his work in this film. The speech he gave about Adonis's future and him being the past couldn't have been done better.

Tex, I'm always happy to see movie threads. I think perhaps we'll need to have a steel-cage match to determine the ultimate SBR resident movie critic... but perhaps there's room for more than one!

I definitely plan to see this one, and will render my verdict once I do!

And speaking of Star Wars nerds, I had never in my life purchased movie tickets two months in advance until last month, for The Force Awakens on Sat, December 19, can't wait! Very pleased that JJ Abrams is at the helm, should be awesome.

    Good work, sir.

Thanks again for the heads up Tex went and watched it last night was great, will be buying that on blu-Ray once it drops...was nice seeing stitch get paid after the UFC did him dirty. I know it was a great movie because people out here don't cheer after a midnight showing in Hollywood.
